Blue Air is not only the first Romanian airline in history but the first Romanian budget airline in history. Started in 2004, it was created to offer Romanian nationals a cheaper, safer and more reliable way of travelling to some of the most popular destinations in Europe and to allow those curious to see Romania’s many hidden treasures to affordably reach them. Priding itself on excellent customer service, efficiency, simplicity and safety, it has a good reputation under its belt meaning existing customers keep coming back year after year.

How to Check In
Online check-in is available with Blue Air but only for certain destinations. Please check on the Blue Air website for more details. For all other flights, check-in can be done at the airport for no additional charge. Passengers are advised to check-in at least 2 hours prior to scheduled departure. Check-in counters close 40 minutes before the time of departure.
Baggage Allowance and Fees
Blue Air hand luggage allowance has now increased to a very generous 10kg. This comes free of charge for all passengers. It must not exceed 55cm x 40cm x 20 cm in size. No other item is permissible separately. Phones, electronic equipment and handbags must fit into the one piece of hand luggage. A free checked bag up to 32 kg is permitted to all passengers.
For allocated seating a charge of 3 euro is incurred. This increases to 5 euro for a ‘nice’ seat and 10 euro for extra leg room.
There is a 10 euro administrative fee incurred by all passengers when booking online by credit or debit card or from agencies. Booking through a call centre will incur a 12 euro charge.
Service on Board
Blue Air offers passengers the opportunity to pre-order a meal from a choice of 6 options at the time of booking. This costs between 7 and 10 euro. Meals will then be brought to you on your flight. This can be done up to 14 hours before flight departure. The Be Blue Air magazine is free of charge.
