Belfast City Airport is a single-runway airport, situated 3 miles from Belfast City Centre. It is one of two airports in Belfast, with the second being Belfast International Airport. As of 2006, the airport’s full name is George Best Belfast City Airport. In 2016, the airport handled 2.7 million passengers. This makes Belfast City Airport the UK’s 17th busiest airport.  


Flights are available from Belfast City to destinations throughout Europe including Amsterdam, Reykjavik, Faro, and Alicante. There are also flights to destinations within the rest of the United Kingdom including Edinburgh, Liverpool, and Manchester.

Getting to & from the Airport



Belfast City Airport is located just outside Belfast City Centre. You’ll find the airport on the A2, between Belfast and Holywood and the Sydenham Bypass Road. If you’re travelling to Belfast via the M1 or M2, simply follow the A2 via the M3. The airport is well signposted throughout the journey.

While there is no train station at Belfast City Airport, rail travellers can take the train as far as Sydenham train station. Belfast City Airport operates a shuttle service between Sydenham Train Station and the airport.



There is a designated bus service (Airport Express 600) that connects Belfast City Airport and the nearby city centre. Services are frequent, and leave every 20 minutes from outside the front of the terminal building.



There is a taxi rank outside of Belfast City Airport terminal. The journey from Belfast City Airport to Belfast City Centre costs approximately £10 and takes approximately 14 minutes.
