Bristol Airport is situated 13km southwest of Bristol city centre. As of 2016, Bristol Airport is the UK’s 9th busiest Airport. More than 7 million passengers travel through the airport annually, flying to destinations across the UK and worldwide. Flights are available to several airports in Ireland, including Dublin, Cork, and Knock.


The airport grew throughout the 20th century, changing its name to Bristol International Airport in 1997, before changing it to Bristol Airport in 2010. As of 2017, several airlines have operating bases at Bristol Airport. This includes Ryanair, Easyjet, Thomas Cook, Thomson Airways, and BMI Regional.

Getting to & from the Airport


Bristol Airport is connected to the rest of the UK via several major routes. It's just off junction 18 of the M5, and is well signposted. Car hire at Bristol Airport is available from several car hire companies including EuropCar, 5th Gear, Avis, Green Motion, Tipoa, Budget, Hertz and EasiRent. All of the car hire desks are located inside Bristol Airport terminal.



While there is no train station at Bristol Airport (the nearest is Bristol Temple Meads), the Bristol Airport Flyer bus service connects the airport with its nearest train station. Buses run frequently, usually every 10 minutes during peak times.



Bristol Airport connects to Bristol Temple Meads, Bristol Railway Station, and Bristol Bus Station via the Bristol Airport Flyer bus service. The journey from Bristol Railway Station to Bristol Airport usually takes 30 minutes. Services run from 2:30am until 12:45am.



Taxis are available from Bristol Airport and operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Arrow Cars is Bristol’s on-site taxi and minibus service. The booking office is located in the arrivals end of the building, and the taxis can be found outside of the terminal building.
