East Midlands Airport is situated between three UK cities: Nottingham, Derby, and Leicester. As of 2015, when 4.5 million people used the airport, East Midlands is the 11th busiest airport in the UK. It is also a major freight airport; the UK’s second busiest for cargo traffic.

If you’re travelling on the M1, take Junction 23a or Junction 24 to get to the airport. On the M42, follow the road until it turns into the A42. The airport is well sign-posted on both roads.



The Skylink airport bus connects East Midlands Airport with nearby train stations such as Loughborough, Long Eaton, Nottingham, and Derby.



Skylink and Airlink services run around the clock, typically every 20 minutes, connecting Nottingham, Leicester, Derby with East Midlands Airport. Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, and Chesterfield are connected to the airport via the National Express Airport 240 service.
