Derry Airport (officially City of Derry Airport) is situated 11km outside Derry in Northern Ireland. The airport is also known as Eglinton Airport, because it's near the town of Eglinton. In 2016, around 290,000 passengers used the airport. This made Derry the UK’s 31st busiest airport, behind Newquay, Norwich, and Bournemouth.

Ryanair and BMI Region both offer scheduled flights to and from Derry Airport. Popular destinations include London, Glasgow, and Liverpool.

Getting to & from the Airport



The City of Derry Airport is just 11km outside of Derry city centre. Driving from Derry, take the A2 Derry to Coleraine Road and follow signs for the airport. Drivers with Sat Nav systems (or smartphones with maps) can enter the airport’s postcode, BT47 3GY, into their devices for more detailed directions.



The nearest train station to the airport is Derry-Londonderry train station, which is located inside Derry city centre. From here, you can take the Derry to Belfast train service which stops at several destination en-route including Ballymena, Coleraine, Portrush, Castlerock, and Limavady. To get between the airport and the train station, you will need to take a bus or taxi.



Ulsterbus operates a regular service between Derry Bus Station on Foyle Street and Derry Airport. There is also a service between Limavady and Derry Airport. The bus journey from Derry Airport to Derry City Centre typically takes between 30 and 40 minutes.



A dedicated taxi rank is located outside of Derry Airport terminal. A taxi from the airport to Derry takes approximately 20 minutes and costs £11.
