Driving around Ancona Airport
Ancona Airport is well connected to the region’s main roads. The airport is located just of the major A14 motorway, which runs parallel to the coast. The airport is just fifteen minutes from the city of Ancona, via the SS76 motorway. The Viale 22 Maggio 1944/SP2 and the A14 go to Pescare and onward towards Bologna, Bari, Roma and Citta’ S. Angelo partial toll road. The exit Ancona Sud-Osimo is the Ancona exit with the airport just off Via Piave. Cortona and Ravenna can be accessed via the motorways SS16, the A14 and the E55. From Ancona to Bologna take the Tanganziale and the A14 towards the Ancona Toll road.

It takes just an hour and 40 minutes to reach Perugia by car from Ancona Airport. Merge onto the SS76 from the airport, then the SS318 towards Perugia. Take the second exit for the Ponte San Giovanni and follow signs for Perugia.
Enigmatic and heart-stoppingly wealthy, San Marino is the smallest country and the oldest surviving sovereign state in the world. As well as wealth, it has a rich history with museums and priceless architectural treasures to admire. Castles spiralling up and up, perched precariously close to the soaring cliff edges are breath-taking to behold but the view from the top is even more so. On a clear day, the Adriatic can be seen to the east and far off views across Italy’s lush green and terracotta roofed landscapes.
San Marino is just 50 minutes by car from Ancona Airport. Simply head southeast for the A14 toll road and then get on the E55 for Bologna. Take the exit towards Fano and follow signs for Perugia and the SS73.
Birthplace of Raphael, Ancona is blessed with blissful sandy beaches that wrap themselves around its magical coastline. It takes just 20 minutes to reach the centre of Ancona from the airport. Get on the SS76 from the airport and take the exit for Ancona, following signs for the city centre.
There is long-term parking at Ancona dock for those travelling on to Europe. The cost is €60 for 10 days. Street parking in Ancona is also available and is usually time limited. Charges apply from 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and tickets are bought from the machines by the roadside. Some hotels in Ancona also offer free parking.
