Luckily there is a BP garage just 20 minutes away from Avignon Airport by car. Get on to the N129 from the airport and continue on to the A7d keeping left. Merge onto the A7 toll road and take exit 23 for Avignon. Merge onto the A7 towards Marseille and the petrol station will appear on the right hand side.

Avignon Airport is well connected to the region’s main roads. Avignon Airport is located 6 miles from the city of Avignon just off the main RN 7 highway. Avignon Airport is also less than a mile away from the A7 Autoroute (Motorway), Exit Avignon Sud. The E714 runs parallel to the airport and goes south all the way to Marseilles. Many smaller roads link the airport with the rest of the country.

Arles

Sun-kissed golden stone buildings climb up and along the winding cobbled streets in one of France’s most beautiful towns.

It takes just 50 minutes to reach Arles by car from Avignon Airport. Head north from the airport and get on the Tarascon N570 highway and ocnitnue on to the D570N. Stay on this road until the D35 and follow signs to the D35A and signs to Arles.

Roussillon

Another of the most beautiful villages in France, Roussillon faces the breath-taking Luberon Mountains. Perched on majoestic red cliffs that drop down to a curve of wide sandy coastline, its ocre coloured buildings with their terracotta roofs look as though they are on fire at sunset. Stroll the medieval streets stopping in cafes that line the square or take a walking tour of the wild cliffs with their panoramic views for a truly beautiful and relaxing experience.

Roussillon is just 40 minutes by car from Avignon Airport. Get on the Route de Marseille and exit for the N7. Take a right for the D900 and stay on this until the exit for the D15 Route de Gordes. Turn left on to the D2, right onto the D102 then left on to the D169 following signs to Roussillon.

Avignon

Avignon was the capital of the Catholic Church during the early Middle Ages and is now a vibrant artistic hub. The Festival d’Avignon in July makes it the place to be in Provence. Nestled behind medieval walls that rise dramatically up from the Rhone River, Avignon is as dramatic as it is beautiful. The colossal Palais des Papes is not to be missed. Its museums and galleries, tiny alleys with hidden shops and elegant cafes make this little piece of Provence a must see destination.

Avignon is just a 20 minute drive from the airport. Get onto the N7 route to Marseilles and take the exit for the D907 following signs for Avignon.

Inside the city wall area there is paid parking in the yellow zones. The maximum parking duration is 3 hours and costs € 2.00 for 3 hours. Chargeable parking hours are from Monday-Saturdays 9am to 12 noon and from 2pm to 7pm. There is some free parking in Porte de l'Oulle, the Allées de L'Oulle and on Boulevard Limbert however these fill up very quickly. Parking rates in the public car parks is from € 1.40-1.70 per hour. Some hotels in Avignon also offer free parking.
