Where to hire a car at Fuerteventura Airport
There are thirteen car hire companies with desks at Fuerteventura Airport: Cicar, Top Car Auto Reisen, Avis, Hertz, Goldcar, Sixt, Europecar, Dollar, Thrifty, Enterprise, Budget and Payless. All of the desks are inside the terminal, so you don’t need to go far to pick up your car.
Petrol stations near Fuerteventura Airport
Depending on your car rental agreement, you may need to hand your car back with a full tank.
The Mederos petrol station is located just 3km from the airport off the roundabout for the Costa de Antigua industrial estate south of the airport. There is an IKEA nearby so you can’t really miss it.
Driving around Fuerteventura Airport
Fuerteventura Airport is well connected to the region’s main road. The main FV-2 road runs north to south past the airport and links it to the rest of the island, from Puerto del Rosario north of the airport and Corralejo in the far north of the island, all the way down to Morro Jable in the southern tip of the island.
Getting to your destination

This beach town on the northern tip of Fuerteventura is a surfer’s paradise thanks to its strong winds and lively sea. Other water sports from wind surfing and scuba diving are also popular here. There are fantastic family friendly resorts here and even a sand dune national park!
Corralejo is just over half an hour north of Fuerteventura Airport. To get here take the FV-2 from the airport heading north towards Puerto del Rosario. Take the FV-3, following signs to Corralejo. With just one main road stretching from north to south, there is little danger of getting lost!
Perfectly landscaped hotel gardens and long stretches of pale sandy beach make this a peaceful getaway while the hills that lie behind it are wonderful for walking. Morro Jable is just over an hour from Fuerteventura Airport by car. To get there just follow the FV-2 road from the airport to Calle Gambuesas the Morro Jable.
Puerto del Rosario
The island’s capital has a beautiful old centre, some exceptional churches, a lovely pal tree lined harbour and little shops and cafes in which to while away the day. The Casa de la Cultura provides the evening’s entertainment.
It takes less than 10 minutes to reach the capital Puerto del Rosario from Fuerteventura Airport. Simply head north on the FV-2 from the airport and follow signs for Puerto del Rosario.
There is no shortage of parking on Fuerteventura. Most of it is free and easy, parking by the side of roads and beaches but many resorts and hotels in Fuerteventura come with parking for their guests. Airport parking is charged but reasonable but do be aware of parking on yellow lines or in loading bays are fines are very commonly given out if you’re found.
