Access to Gran Canaria Airport from Las Palmas and destinations on the east coast is via the island's main north-south GC-1 motorway. From the centre of Las Palmas, head south on the GC-3 route before merging onto the southbound GC-1 motorway. The airport is well-signposted from the motorway and from the adjoining secondary roads.

Masopalmas is a wonderful location for all the family thanks to the beautiful Palmitos Park located in the area. Masopalmas is just a 20 minute drive from Las Palmas Airport. Head southwest and exit the roundabout for the GC-1. Take exit 46 towards the GC-500 to San Fernando and Masopalmas. Follow the signs to the centre.
Beautiful Telde is one for history buffs with a number of interesting archaeological remains to explore. Once home to the pre-Hispanic kingdoms of Gran Canaria, some of the best sites include the ancient underground cave dwellings of Baladero, Tufia and Cuatro Puertas. The narrow winding shop-filled streets of San Francisco, in Telde, are also worth a wander. Stunning sandy beaches with nearby restaurants and bars, offer plenty of opportunity to enjoy the sunshine.
Telde is just 13 minutes by car from Las Palmas Airport. Get on the GC-1 and take exit 10. Get on the GC-102 and follow the signs to Telde.
Las Palmas is the hedonistic capital of Gran Canaria. Those looking for fun in the sun should make Las Palmas their first stop. Adrenalin junkies can hike, surf and cycle in the spectacular landscapes while the cosmopolitan capital offers plenty in the way of shopping, fine dining, lively markets and an even livelier nightlife. Most of the centre operates meter parking (taking coins only), but finding a space can be challenging. Otherwise, there are several underground car parks, where you pay around €2 per hour. The most central are at Parque Santa Catalina, Plaza de España and at Parque San Telmo, opposite the main bus station. Some hotels in Gran Canaria also offer free parking.
