Car Hire at Enfidha Airport
Enfidha Airport is in the northeast of Tunisia, on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It sits between the towns of Tunis and Sfax, and it’s a great airport to fly to if you’re staying on one of Tunisia’s beautiful beach towns.

Where to hire a car at Enfidha Airport
When you enter the arrivals hall at Enfidha Airport, you’ll see the Avis car rental office. They have a wide variety of different vehicles you can rent, varying from coupes to people carriers.
Petrol stations close at Frankfurt Hahn Airport
Depending on your car rental agreement, you may need to hand your car back with a full tank.
The closest petrol station to Enfidha Airport is around 20km away. When you exit the airport, move onto Highway 1, and continue for 18km. Take the exit from the Highway, and continue straight to reach the fuelling station.
There’s also a petrol station to the south of the airport. When exiting the airport, head west onto the P1. Continue for 15km, and the destination will be on your left.
Driving around at Enfidha Airport
There are 3 main motorways in Tunisia, and Enfidha is on the edge of one of them – the A1. The A1 connects the north and the south of Tunsia, from Tunis, to Sfax. It’s easy to reach many of Tunsia’s main coastal destinations from Enfidha, however there are also good connections to in land destinations like Al-Qayrawan.
You should always research the FCO warnings prior to driving in Tunisia. The roads do vary, most are developed on the coast, but they can vary in quality inland.
Popular destinations to drive to from Enfidha Airport
Hammamet used to be a small fishing village, like many places in Tunisia. However, the beautiful beaches are now lined with hotels and restaurants which make it perfect for a beachy getaway.
Hammamet is just 40 minutes up the coast from Enfidha. When you leave the airport, move onto the A1, and continue for 50km up to Hammamet. To reach the town, drive to the C28.
Sousse is another popular seaside location on the coast of Tunsia, which is an easy 30 minute drive from the airport. Although the main attractions are on the beach, it’s also known for producing incredible olive oil!
When leaving the airport, move onto Highway 1 moving southbound. Follow the Highway to Kalaa Seghira, and take the exit from Highway 1. Take Rue du Commandant Bejauoui and Avenue du Stade to reach Sousse.
Monastir is a city on a small peninsula, jutting out of the centre of Tunisia’s coast. It’s position has always meant that it’s been a major fishing port, however it’s now a family friendly holiday resort too.
To get to Monastir, you’ll have to head through Sousse. Follow Highway 1 down the coast, and take the exit for C100e after 52km. At the roundabout, take the third exit. Continue on C100e to reach Monastir.
