Petrol stations near Knock Airport
Depending on your car rental agreement, you may need to hand your car back with a full tank.
Be warned that this is a very rural area and that there are no 24 hour petrol stations in the vicinity of Knock or the airport therefore it is essential to plan when you fill up your car if you want to avoid the highly surcharged fuel charges of the car hire companies. Currently the nearest petrol station to Knock airport is the Texaco garage on the R320. From the airport get onto the N17, turn right onto the R322 and then left onto the Main Street where the garage should be visible. The journey is approximately 20 minutes.

Knock Airport is well connected to the region County Mayo’s main roads and the surrounding area. It is also an international hub for the west, north-west and Midland regions of Ireland. The n17 is the main road that passes the airport and links the airport to the north and south of Ireland and the N5 that links east and west.

The drive from Knock Airport to Westport should not take more than 50 minutes. Head north from the airport taking the first exit at the roundabout. Follow the road until you get to the N5. Continue on the N5 following signs for Westport.
High-spirited Galway offers visitors arts festivals and castles, historic churches, boutique shopping and farmers markets and an evening craic that is hard to beat. Live music, roaring fires and hearty food make long afternoon walks worthwhile while the Promenade is a lovely place for families to spend the day.
The journey from Knock airport to Galway is approximately an hour and twenty minutes. From Knock airport, head southwest on the R376 towards the N17 towards Carrowmore. Stay on the N17 until you get to Tuam Road/R336 in Galway City.
Peaceful Knock is home to the famous Knock shrine; a centuries old place of pilgrimage where one vision changed a village forever. Cosy up in a local hotel or pub after a windswept walk to Holy Mountain.
It takes just under 20 minutes to reach Knock from the airport. Head north from the airport taking the second exit at the roundabout. Turn right onto the N17, then the R329 exit towards Knock and Kiltimagh. Continue for another kilometre until you reach Knock. Parking at Knock is pretty free and easy given the small, rural location. Site of religious interest may be busier than other areas, particularly in the warmer summer months.
