Where to hire a car at Sharm el Sheikh Airport
There are three car hire companies with desks at Sharm el Sheikh Airport: Hertz, Europecar and Thrifty. All of the desks are inside the terminal, so you don’t need to go far to pick up your car.
Petrol stations near Sharm el Sheikh Airport
Depending on your car rental agreement, you may need to hand your car back with a full tank.
There is a Mobil petrol station halfway between Sharm El-Sheikh and Na'ama Bay. Take the El Salaam road from the airport towards Na’ama Bay and the petrol station will be on the left hand side.

Sharm el Sheikh Airport is well connected to the region’s main road networks. Sharm el-Sheikh can be reached by driving down the eastern coast from Eilat (Israel) via Nuweiba and Dahab, or via the western coast from Cairo.

Mount Sinai is three hours by car from Sharm el Sheikh Airport. Take the El Salaam Road to Dahab City Road and continue to Noweabaa following signs to the mountain.
With a mountain backdrop, Dahab’s soft sandy beaches are a welcome sight. Dahab is in two parts; a little resort set around a lagoon, and a city where travellers come to chill out, enjoy cafes, shops and restaurants. The lagoon provides perfect conditions for swimming and windsurfing while the hippy vibe of the town offers plenty to do as the sun begins to set.
Dahab is just an hour by car from Sharm el Sheikh Airport. Take the El Salaam Road to Dahab City Road and follow this to the El Nasr Road in Qesm Saint Katrin. Follow signs for the centre.
Sharm el Sheikh
Sharm, as it is known locally, is a ribbon of opulent resorts where the world comes to worship the sun and the sea and what lies beneath it. One of the world’s renowned scuba diving spots, Sharm attracts divers of all abilities and ages. Hotels offer pampering and fine dining and day trip to the pyramids, there are lovely cafes and bustling local markets to explore by day, while Na’ama Bay is where the nightlife is most ‘happening’. It takes just 15 minutes to reach Sharm el Sheikh from the airport. Head southwest from the airport on to the El Salaam Road and follow this to the city centre.
Nearly all parking in Sharm el Sheikh is provided by the shopping malls and water parks and other attractions in the city. There is some free parking on the street but this is limited. Most of the resorts and hotels in Sharm El Sheikh offer free parking.
