Where to hire a car at Zurich Airport

Petrol stations near Zurich Airport
Depending on your car rental agreement, you may need to hand your car back with a full tank.
There is a BP petrol station on the grounds of Zurich Airport, just two minutes by car so it is easy to fill your hire car before returning it. To get there head northwest out of the airport, keep to the right then get onto Flughafenstrasse and the garage will be on the left hand side.

Baden is just 20 minutes by car from Zurich Airport. To get there take the Butzenbüelring road out of the airport and get on to the A51 following signs for Bern/Basel. The A51 is a toll road. Follow sings for the E60 to Bern/Basel and merge onto the A1H (another toll road). Take exit 55 for Baden.

Lausanne is located 2 hours and 30 minutes from Zurich Airport by car. From the A51 toll road, stay on the right at the 63-Zurich-Nord interchange and follow signs for the E41 to Basel/Bern. Keep right at the 59-interchange for Limmattaler Kreuz and follow signs for the E60. Merge onto the A1H which is another toll road and on to the A1. Stay here and follow signs for Bern. Get onto the E23 for Lausanne.

On street parking in Zurich city centre is mainly for residents with permits. There are some spaces in the white zones but are charged from 8am to 7pm and parking is for 30 minutes maximum. It is charged at 1.50 CHF per 30 minutes. There is parking close to Zurich Zoo for up to six hours during the week and Saturdays and eight hours on Sunday. This is charged at 15 CHF for a whole day. There are park and Ride facilities near train stations with parking for only 4-6CHF per day. Unlimited parking available in car parks in the city centre. Parking rates are €2.00-3.00 per hour. Some hotels in Zurich have car parking; usually this costs extra.
