Airports in Mauritius

The main international airport in Mauritius Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (or Mauritius Airport for short). It's 48km south of the island's capital, Port Louis. The new terminal, which is shaped like the island's iconic traveller's palm, opened in 2013. Three public bus routes run from the airport, and official taxis operate from outside the terminal. When to visit Mauritius

Mauritius is at its best from May to December. The island has a tropical climate, so temperatures don't vary too much throughout the year. Whenever you visit, you should get a few beach days. It's best to avoid Mauritius from January to March, as this is cyclone season and the weather can be temperamental (and very wet). The East Coast can be very windy in July and August.

Mauritius has its wet season from December to April, and January and February are the dampest months. These are also the hottest months, so it can be a bit muggy and uncomfortable if you're not used to humidity. The coldest months, June to October, are the most comfortable. The temperature average ranges from 21°C to 23°C, ideal for catching a tan on the beach or strolling through the national parks.
