Relaxation
We felt extremely comfortable at Hotel Rossa from the very beginning. The rooms are very clean, well-maintained, and cozy. Particularly noteworthy is the delicious breakfast with fresh products and truly high quality.
The hosts are exceptionally polite, warm, and helpful at all times. Whether bike tours, restaurant recommendations, excursions, or organizing a taxi – everything is reliably and perfectly organized. You can tell that the well-being of their guests is truly close to their hearts.
A perfect starting point to enjoy the beautiful South Styria. We would love to come back and can recommend Hotel Villa Rosa without reservation!

Cannot wait to come back
This was our second stay at Villa Rosa and again a great experience. You feel the hospitality and professionalism. Rooms are spotless clean. The whole place is extremely well maintained. The breakfast is worth the visit with lot's of small attentions and nice products coming from the various farms around or even home made. The location on top of the Sernauberg means a fantastic view on the hills and vineries. You can start hiking routes right from the front door. We als found the taxi service an excellent idea and service. Just leave your car and the taxi will bring you where you want and back, as part of the hotel service you pay for. Excellent wines and good advice on where to go to taste and buy wines. Many higlights: the wines, the view, the location, the breakfast, the swimming pool, the hospitality, the friendliness,... and nothing negative to report.

True definition of hospitality in a charming location
The customer experience starts before actually arriving at the hotel and those who understand this usually excel in this business. We were just finishing our short holiday in Italy, we were travelling back home and discovered this beautiful place online, but unfortunately the rooms seemed to be sold out. We still decided to call the hotel and we were charmed by Mr. Steer's desire to find us two rooms.
As soon as we arrived, we received one of the warmest greetings we ever experienced. Even though we initially planned to stay only one night we ended up spending two beautiful days here, purely because we fell in love with the place. Mr. Steer and his wife are the owners of the property, but they are also 100% involved in running the business.
Mrs. Steer has a great eye for spotting the customer needs and she is always one step ahead of you. They do not have a restaurant yet, however you must experience their breakfast on the terrace, that is overlooking hills full of vineyards. The view is simply breathtaking. We were also lucky enough to have lovely weather so we spent one full day at the swimming pool.
We are extremely passionate about wine, and, luckily for us, Mr. Steer has a lot of knowledge about local wine and gave us great tips where to purchase wine from. Also, he recommended each night great restaurants in the region. The hotel also offers free taxi services to and from the restaurant, which I felt was a very beautiful way of treating their guests.
Last but not least, the rooms are extremely clean, with an overall rustic decor, super comfortable beds and the area is so peaceful & quiet it is impossible not to get a good sleep.
I am a genuine believer that some people are just born with this hospitality instinct and I must admit, from the start to the very end the customer journey has been spot on. As a customer and also as a person who works in the industry I must congratulate the entire team at Hotel Villa Rosa for their amazing services and customer oriented attitude.
Nonetheless, the highlight of our experience at this hotel was meeting their beautiful daughter, Rosa, that is, without a doubt, the star of the show.
We simply cannot wait to return!

Hotel Villa Rosa is perfection
We stayed here for two nights and could have happily stayed for many more. The common areas and guest rooms are beautiful. The views over the Styrian countryside are gorgeous.
The breakfast buffet was expansive and delicious! In addition to the buffet, we had scrambled eggs each morning that were garnished with local pumpkin seed oil which has a greenish color. Amazing! I find myself still thinking about those eggs. One morning it was still cold outside when we sat down for breakfast, but by the time we were done the sun was higher and it had warmed up a bit. Sandra inquired if we wanted to finish our coffee outside, which we did. She opened up the patio and setup a table for us. We had some glorious minutes enjoying our coffee, the sun and the view. I can only imagine when the weather is warmer to be able to enjoy the patio throughout the day for relaxation, reading, wine sipping or just looking at the view.
There is a brilliant arrangement available with the local restaurants, hotels and wineries where a taxi is called for you and you are given a voucher to hand to the driver. For example to go from the Hotel Villa Rosa to a restaurant. This is free of charge. Then when you are ready to leave the restaurant, they will call the taxi to take you back. This would be a great way to visit multiple wineries or to not have to worry about driving back from a restaurant after enjoying a bottle of wine.
Bjorn was very helpful in making restaurant and winery visit recommendations. He even recommended some restaurants in Graz which was our next stop after leaving the area.
One tip: If you arrive while the reception area is closed, be sure to press the call button outside the door long enough to hear a tone. The sign instructing you to do so is in German. The first time I didn't press the button long enough and it didn't make the call. On my second attempt, there was an immediate answer and Bjorn was there within a minute to check us in.

Visit to the Südsteirische Wine Region
On 21 June 2016, we had the pleasure of staying overnight at the Villa Rosa in Gamlitz, Austria. This newly remodelled boutique hotel, nestled amonst the tranquil vinyards covering the rolling hills just outside of Gamlitz was like finding a little bit of heaven! The attention and care given to us by the proprietors, Sandra and Björn was 5 star! The morning Breakfast Buffet was layed out with great care and offered items for every taste. They have created the perfect "Get Away Resort" offering unequalled peace and relaxation. We hope to visit again soon and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough! Thank you, Sandra and Björn!!
