Chic and beautiful

This is a wonderful, calm place.
The decor is beautiful, the rooms very big, spacious and comfortable.
The summer kitchen was very well stocked and the atmosphere extremely relaxed and welcoming.
The gardens are amazing - lush, tropical and dense and a wonderful escape from reality. The pool area was lovely and we spent hours down there. Very traditional but comfortable.
The breakfast was tasty and plentiful.
All in all- it felt like a b&b combined with a private villa- although there were lots of other guests there too, we felt as if it was ‘ours’, in a good way! We loved it.
Nearby we visited beautiful roman villages (eg balazuc) went kayaking and swam in river beaches. We got pizza takeaway and ate in some lovely local places - it was a perfect base.
I totally recommend it!!

Secret Garden Chateau

An absolutely exquisite chateau in the luscious Ardèche region of France. If you are contemplating booking, don’t wait! The grounds feel like a secret garden getaway that you’ll never want to leave. The old chateau is artfully decorated and full of history at every turn. During our three-day stay, the hosts were beyond welcoming (with magic!) and the food was divine. I clearly can’t say enough wonderful things about this location! Make sure to rent a car and visit the nearby town of Balazuc!

We felt like queens!

We had an amazing time at this charming castle. Our hosts, Veronique and Eric, were welcoming and cooked in Michelin style! They even surprised us with a birthday celebration for one of us! Veronique is also a designer and has a lovely boutique; she also teaches yoga! Eric shared the wonderful history of the castle, invited to see a movie at the theater/dungeon (oubliette), and gave us a mini puppet show! Vegan friendly and friendly all around!

3.5 for A Remote Gem

This is a lovely B&B. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very large with lovely quaint furniture. The communal areas were very nice with books and games to spend one's time. They have a lap pool which we did not use but looked very nice. The breakfast was very nice and they managed to feed me well despite my allergies.
We did not get to have dinner because the chef was sick. It was a Monday and off season so we could not really find a restaurant, especially as we wanted to eat early - round 6ish. We bought some stuff from the supermarket and had a picnic in the garden which was very pleasant but may not be to everyone's taste. Also be aware, in case you have allergies to cats that there are two cats in the building.
