First of all the receptionists, the waitresses and bartenders were fantastic. The location is wonderful, quiet. Lovely atmosphere. The room was clean, we've been given a different room than what we booked and this was a plus for was because we got a sea view room, the room was cleaned daily, towels changed daily, nothing to complain. We booked this workday 1 week before getting here so the price was higher then different periods of the summer. The location is quite remote but it's perfect, there is a bus station 5 minutes form the resort. €2/fare to Lindos(must visit) and €5.60/fare to Rhodes Town(not so special, busy and expensive). 30 mins walk to Lardos village but not much to see there.
There is a shop/supermarket at the resort but it's overpriced, not all the prices are visible. 5 minutes to the next resort on the right there's another supermarket with normal prices.
You only get 1 bottle of water/day in the room which in this heay conditions in not enough, the supermarket water is at gold price.
The sea was wonderful, get yourselves shoes for the beach as it's not sand and about 10 metres into the sea it's only rocks
The not so good part of this resort is that they're not sustainable, the drinks during the day are served in paper cups, same for the ice-cream. Paper plates for pizza and snacks.
The food was really good, everyone can find something to eat without complaining.
Come prepared, take mosquito spray or bracelets or anything against them as they're many.
Overall our stay was really good, we will come back

Great hotel to stay in when visiting Rhodes.
First off, the staff are fantastic. They took care of every request we had—and the five of us had many! Manolis and George at reception were immensely helpful with our room upgrade and booking trips. The waitresses and bartenders were equally wonderful.
The location is perfect; there is a bus stop just up the hill that connects you to any town. While the hotel has its own beach, I highly recommend bringing good water shoes since the first ten feet are rocky before it turns into sand.
I was the only American at the hotel during my stay, but I met lovely people from all over the world. Everyone was friendly and easy to talk to, and English is widely spoken. I would definitely stay here again!

A Hotel That’s Only Going to Get Better
We stayed at Kamari Beach Resort during the first week of May and had such a lovely holiday that we’re already planning to return. The hotel has recently come under new management, and every day we were there something new seemed to be opening or improving. It’s clear there are exciting plans for the resort, and I can’t wait to come back when everything is fully up and running.
The Staff Made Our Holiday
Without a doubt, the staff were the highlight of our stay. Every member of the team was incredibly friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. We had a laugh with them every day, and they genuinely made the holiday special.
We arrived late at night and were pleasantly surprised to find they had prepared a small plate of food for us, which was a thoughtful touch after travelling.
As we were celebrating our anniversary, they had also left a bottle of wine and some fresh fruit in our room, which was a lovely surprise.
On one occasion we had been out exploring and were rushing back for dinner. The staff noticed this and even offered to prepare a plate for us in future so we wouldn’t have to worry about getting back in time. It’s little gestures like this that make such a difference.
Our Private Pool Room
We paid a little extra for one of the rooms with a private pool and I think it would have been worth it had the weather been warmer because we hardly used the pool because it was too cold. I believe there are only four of these rooms. However they are below the kitchen and the staff room is opposite so you constantly have staff walking past. You are also overlooking into the pools next to you, so it’s not that private.
We visited in early May, so although the first day brought heavy rain and the temperatures weren’t particularly hot afterwards, we still enjoyed having the private pool. It would be even better if the pools were heated, especially for those travelling outside the peak summer months.
Interestingly, we were told these rooms are actually slightly smaller than the standard rooms, but ours still felt spacious.
The room itself was lovely and included:
• Very comfortable beds
• Individually controlled air conditioning and heating
• Tea and coffee making facilities
• A proper hairdryer that could be used outside the bathroom
• A spacious shower
• Complimentary drinks in the fridge
The only things I felt were missing were:
• A full length mirror
• Some drawers for extra storage
• A notepad
Pools and Facilities
Although we loved our private pool, there are also three large communal pools around the resort with plenty of sun loungers, so there was never any issue finding somewhere to sit.
The only slight inconvenience was having to walk to the bar each time for all inclusive drinks. It wasn’t far, but we quickly learnt to collect two drinks each to save making multiple trips.
The hotel also has:
• A small gym with everything you need
• Mountain bikes available to borrow, with guided rides available if you’d like an instructor
• A spa area that is due to open offering massages
• A padel court
• A volleyball court currently being built
The only disappointment was the cost of the padel court. It was €10 per person per hour, which we thought was quite expensive for an all inclusive hotel. We’d have happily paid a refundable deposit or perhaps €5, but €10 each soon adds up if you wanted to play regularly.
Food and Drink
There was plenty of food and drinks available throughout the day. All inclusive drinks began at 10am and ended at 11pm.
I have included a photo of the food times in this review. From 2pm pizzas and rolls were available by the pool bar and are cooked to perfection by an Italian chef.. There was also plenty of seating both inside and outside.
Entertainment
The one area where the hotel could really improve is the entertainment.
During our stay there was no daytime entertainment and nothing organised in the evenings. On our final day they did put music on around the pool, which immediately created a better atmosphere.
Most evenings we ended up sitting in reception with our all inclusive cocktails, playing games we’d brought with us or watching the football. It was relaxing, but after several nights it became a little repetitive.
Some daytime activities or evening entertainment would really enhance the experience.
If you’re visiting in early May, I’d also recommend bringing a jacket as the evenings can be quite chilly.
Beach and Surroundings
The hotel is situated right on the beachfront, which is beautiful. The beach itself is quite gritty rather than soft sand, although while we were there we could actually see golden sand being delivered, so improvements were clearly underway.
The promotional photographs show boats and water sports, but these weren’t available during our visit. It would be fantastic if the hotel introduced water sports and organised excursions around Rhodes in the future.
The resort itself is very attractive, spacious and well maintained, and there’s a small supermarket just a stone’s throw away.
A Useful Tip About Walking Along the Beach
If you’re facing the sea, walk to the left and you’ll reach other hotels and beach sports in around 15 minutes.
Google Maps incorrectly tries to send you over the road, making it appear to be a 40 minute walk, because it assumes you can’t cross the water. In reality, the water is only ankle deep, so you can simply walk across it.
However, be aware that:
• The sand is very gritty and can be uncomfortable underfoot.
• Wear suitable footwear.
• There are no lights at night, so it’s safest to do this during the day and get a taxi back if you’re out in the evening.
Exploring Rhodes by Bus
We visited Rhodes Town, Faliraki and Lindos using the local buses, and they were an affordable way to explore the island.
The bus stop, number 67, is at the top of the hill near the hotel.
Approximate journey times and fares were:
• Rhodes Town, around 2 hours, approximately €7 each
• Faliraki, around 1½ hours, approximately €5 each
• Lindos, around 40 minutes, approximately €3 each
• Pefkos, around 30 minutes and well worth visiting
When returning, any bus heading towards Kiotari or Gennadi will stop near Kamari Beach.
One warning though: the buses are extremely quick and don’t wait around. If you’re paying by card, they often close the doors and begin driving before you’ve even finished paying, which feels rather unsafe. Likewise, when getting off, make sure you press the stop button well in advance and don’t be afraid to call out if the driver doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
Rhodes Town
Rhodes Town is definitely worth visiting and, because of the long journey from the hotel, we decided to book a cheap hotel there for one night so we could enjoy the evening without worrying about travelling back.
We visited all the main attractions before having dinner at Romeo’s, where we got to smash plates for €1 each, a brilliant experience and something you don’t find everywhere. At weekends they also have traditional Greek dancing, so it’s worth booking ahead.
Later we went to Ronda on Elli Beach for a more lively atmosphere with music, sparklers and napkins flying through the air. On Fridays and Saturdays they apparently put on an even bigger show with fireworks and performers, which would be ideal for younger crowds.
Faliraki and Anthony Quinn Bay
The following day we travelled to Faliraki and visited Naya Beach Club before heading to Kounna Beach Bar overlooking Anthony Quinn Bay.
The views are stunning, but it’s definitely worth making a reservation if you want one of the front tables overlooking the sea.
Getting the bus back was slightly confusing, although that was more our lack of preparation than anything else.
Lindos
Lindos was probably one of our favourite places.
The buses were straightforward, and there’s a helpful information office if you need assistance.
We enjoyed drinks at Rainbird, which has an incredible view over Lindos Beach, and also visited Ginger, another lovely spot with only a handful of seats but equally stunning views.
We then walked up to the Acropolis. Thankfully it was an overcast day because I imagine it would be a difficult climb in the height of summer. Make sure you take plenty of water and stop for breaks.
Personally, though, I don’t think it’s worth the €20 entrance fee. I visited years ago and there seemed to be much more to see. Now it’s largely ruins and information boards about statues that are no longer there. The views are spectacular, but the main attraction itself was underwhelming.
We also visited Tambakio at St Paul’s Bay. Reservations are recommended, and the sunbeds are expensive. As we hadn’t booked, they kindly served our drinks in takeaway cups so we could enjoy them by the beach instead.
Dinner at Odyssia Rooftop Restaurant was delicious but expensive. Like many rooftop restaurants in Lindos, you’re paying as much for the incredible views as the food itself.
My advice would be to stay into the evening, have dinner while watching the sunset, and head back to the hotel afterwards.
Would We Return?
Absolutely.
A number of guests had hired cars, and we’ll almost certainly do the same next time as there’s plenty of parking outside the hotel.
I wouldn’t describe Kamari Beach as a family focused hotel at the moment, as there wasn’t much specifically for children apart from the pools, and we didn’t notice any children’s entertainment or dedicated play areas.
However, if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday with genuinely wonderful staff and an excellent base for exploring Rhodes, this hotel is a fantastic choice.
The atmosphere is calm and laid back, and although it’s tucked away from the busier resorts, that’s exactly what we ended up appreciating most. After exploring the island, it was lovely to return somewhere quiet and relaxing.
The hotel clearly has exciting plans for the future, and we genuinely can’t wait to come back and see how it develops and to see the amazing staff again.

Honest Review with slight criticism
We were moved to this hotel from Faliraki as our hotel had double booked our pool room, so they sent us to Kamari which had a pool room available. This was no issue for us as it was a better hotel and better location. Upon arrival the staff were so friendly and helpful and I couldn’t fault them throughout our stay, every single one of them were attentive and welcoming no matter what time of day it was. We had the cleaning service offered every day and they gave us fresh towels and bedding every time they came.
We were given the Junior Suite with private pool, at first glance the room was fantastic for us however there were a few things I will say. For a Junior Suite the room is tiny with hardly any space for your belongings and cases etc. The TV had wires hanging down and looked messy, there were wires coming out the wall in the bathroom and one morning we were greeted by a cockroach that had possibly come from the drain in the bathroom. The outside space gets A LOT of ants and there is no brush or hose to get rid of them and the cleaners don’t do anything about them either. Also if you’re after a quiet room DO NOT stay in a private pool room as they are below the kitchen and from 6am until 11pm all you hear is banging and clattering of pots pans and cutlery, it is so loud! The outdoor space has no privacy either, the other pool rooms have no fences so you can literally see into each others patio area/pool and hear every conversation you have. As well as them being opposite the staff area so the staff are constantly walking past. (This wasn’t an issue for us but for other people I can see why it would).
The all inclusive we thought was fantastic and had no problems with the food, there was a different variety most days. The new A La Carte menu was available and it was lovely, you have to ask reception to book you in for it though. The drinks menu at the bar however was limited and only certain drinks were included, I’m a beer drinker and there was only one or two beers available. No Corona no Mythos etc only a local beer on tap. The supermarket next door was extremely expensive and there were no prices on hardly anything. It’s €3 for a regular bottle of coke or fizzy drink but €3.90 for a large bottle. I think they just make the prices up as one day we were short by a euro or two and the cashier said it’s ok and just changed the price on the till.
Location wise it’s sort of in the middle of nowhere and if you don’t have a car you have to taxi everywhere which can be expensive. We were told by our taxi driver to the hotel it was €14/15 euro to get to Lindos, however the company the hotel use for taxi’s charged us €23 euro and €20 on the way back. We spent most of our time on the resort as it was too expensive to get around. Lardos beach is literally a stones throw and it is possible to walk across however there is a waterway you have to walk across to get to it so unless you have water shoes or are happy to walk barefoot foot that’s the only way you will get there unless you want to walk an hour up the end of the road and back down into Lardos town or taxi of course.
Overall we had a great stay at Kamari, I’ve only mentioned honestly with slight criticism that I know would probably bother other people so to give a heads up before you book. The resort itself we found lovely and there are a variety of pools and also the private beach. We would stay here again but we’d stay in the Villas as they seem to be cheaper than the pool rooms and you have more privacy and space.
You can book a few excursions through reception but I will say I.e Rhodes Old Town you are the first pick up point on a coach, so it takes about 2 hours to get to Old Town as you have to pick up everyone else from about 15 other hotels before you get there.
We were given the Junior Suite with private pool, at first glance the room was fantastic for us however there were a few things I will say. The all inclusive we thought was fantastic and had no problems with the food, there was a different variety most days. The new A La Carte menu was available and it was lovely, you have to ask reception to book you in for it though. The drinks menu at the bar however was limited and only certain drinks were included, I’m a beer drinker and there was only one or two beers available. No Corona no Mythos etc only a local beer on tap. The supermarket next door was extremely expensive and there were no prices on hardly anything. It’s €3 for a regular bottle of coke or fizzy drink but €3.90 for a large bottle. I think they just make the prices up as one day we were short by a euro or two and the cashier said it’s ok and just changed the price on the till.
Location wise it’s sort of in the middle of nowhere and if you don’t have a car you have to taxi everywhere which can be expensive. We were told by our taxi driver to the hotel it was €14/15 euro to get to Lindos, however the company the hotel use for taxi’s charged us €23 euro and €20 on the way back. We spent most of our time on the resort as it was too expensive to get around. Lardos beach is literally a stones throw and it is possible to walk across however there is a waterway you have to walk across to get to it so unless you have water shoes or are happy to walk barefoot foot that’s the only way you will get there unless you want to walk an hour up the end of the road and back down into Lardos town or taxi of course.
Overall we had a great stay at Kamari, I’ve only mentioned honestly with slight criticism that I know would probably bother other people so to give a heads up before you book. The resort itself we found lovely and there are a variety of pools and also the private beach. We would stay here again but we’d stay in the Villas as they seem to be cheaper than the pool rooms and you have more privacy and space.
You can book a few excursions through reception but I will say I.e Rhodes Old Town you are the first pick up point on a coach, so it takes about 2 hours to get to Old Town as you have to pick up everyone else from about 15 other hotels before you get there.

Disappointing experience
It took me a while to think of if I am willing to write something about the hotel and if yes, what rating to give.
In general it is a nice, calm place with private beach and nice swim area. Hotel serves good food, basic breakfast, fresh fish, shrimps, mussels during the dinner time, quite a rare treat in AI hotels.
The downsides:
- overpriced market at the hotel (bottle of water 3,50 or 2,50 depending on cashier mood), no price tag almost at anything.
- Advertised ala-carte restaurant do not exist.
- Upon arrival we’ve been told that they had no room for us, but booked us at the different hotels pace for tonight. Gave some food (nice gesture indeed)
- Next day when arrived the lady (Dionisia) couldn’t find our booking in the system, though I booked directly with the hotel. Luckily she did, after 20 minutes.
- Booked room with the sea view(picture attached). If it is a room with sea view, then I am Cirque Du Soleil performer.(btw sea view room +-200 eur more expensive than regular one)
- Politely asked if we’re allocated to the correct room. The lady forgot how we look like probably ten seconds after we left reception. She confirmed it is not the sea view. Manager (mr. Manolis) on the other hand ensured it is the sea view and he don’t know why hotel management advertised this room that way. When he told me how tired he is, how he haven’t slept for 3 days, because of the issue they had due to government. Complaint about the ungrateful hotel guests. We all struggle at work, I’ve been working in hotel services for 8 years, and never allowed myself to rant to the clients. So excuse me myself if I came to holidays and don’t see how your lack of sleep and other things is my problem. And after 40 minutes of me waiting, while switching his attention to other people, he finally told me he found the perfect almost the best room possible with the desired sea view. I took a key, went upstairs to check the room and immediately went back. I think he found the best way possible to insult the client, provide the room located above the restaurant, facing the pool bar with loud music until 1 am. Well done .
- AC in the room stopped working probably 3rd day of our stay, I am typing this on our last day of stay, and it still wasn’t fixed, even though I am reporting it for 5 days in a row. And nothing changed.
- Cleaning: get used that you bedding probably won’t be changed even once, and you constantly will miss 1 or 2 towels from set, or water which is included in your stay.
It is very disappointing, that such a nice place is operated by people lacking any understanding of what good customer service means.
P.S. Main restaurant employees are simply amazing.
