Perfect hotel for a stop
Kind staff and good breakfast
Very close to the border from Promachonas, it is possible to reach this border earlier than the cars will be crowded.
The village where the hotel is located has about two restaurants with good food
On the net it was said that the lake is populated with birds of several kinds, but I have not seen anything like that. Of course, this has nothing to do with the hotel.

Very nice hotel
The Hotel:
The bedrooms were kept very clean, the towels and bedding were changed often by the lovely and friendly cleaner Elena.
The hotel restaurant served very nice food with decent sized portions at a good price. We had chicken breast, pork chop, water buffalo sausages, pasta, beefburger, chicken schnitzel, etc. However, I would have liked to have seen more traditional Greek food on the menu.
The hotel itself (including swimming pool and restaurant) is located on one level and the hotel rooms are located on another level which is further up the hill. The hill and the apartments are very steep so I would not recommend a stay to those with mobility issues! It did us good to stay as we kept very fit climbing the steep hill and stairs! The rooms are purposely situated up high as they look across the lake and the view is simply stunning!
The staff were all very friendly. ‘Little Sugar’ and her team are all a credit the hotel.
The location:
The hotel is situated at the bottom corner of Lake Kerkini. The lake is huge, I didn’t realise how large it was until we got there! There is a village close to the hotel, there only appears to be one small shop in the village which isn’t open all the time but it did sell a vast selection of items.
Recommendations:
We hired a car at the aiport and drove to Lake Kerkini. I recommend getting a car so that you can drive around the lake and explore the neighbouring villages.
We took the boat trip from Kerkini harbour (not the boat trip that is located close to the hotel) and it was incredible to see the pelicans and flamingos up close.
We also went horse riding at the ‘Ixnilatis’ ranch. We went on a one hour 20 minute ride around the lake and through the water buffalo. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. We booked the horse ride directly by driving to the ranch and going in to speak with the owner Tao who is a really friendly and nice man.
Summary
We had a really nice time and we would love to visit again.
