Fabulous Haveli with great roof terraces and view of the castle.

This is a lovely haveli very near the fort and it has several roof terraces that become an oasis in the hectic city of Jaipur.
The bed was comfy, the rooms large and clean. We especially liked the roof spaces and ate at the restaurant both nights which was nice.
I’d stay here again as it’s a great location but beware there are very steep steps here and perhaps bring your own mosquito repellent.

Amazing views, quirky old hotel

Unique and quirky guesthouse in an old building in the Navchokiya area of Jodhpur, which is a quieter neighborhood than the busy clock tower old city area. Accessed via a narrow alley and lots of steep stairs inside so won't be good with anyone with mobility issues. The rooftop patio and restaurant area has stunning views. The room had very unique decor and my room had a stunning view of the fort (although I couldn't really leave the windows open for very long because pigeons live immediately outside the windows). No sheets on the bed just a blanket and also the rug on the floor was dirty. Service is a bit mixed, was staffed mainly by somewhat bored young men, there was nobody there when I arrived to checkin, and restaurant service was a bit slow. Power outages at certain times made staying in the room far too hot. But overall, this still would be a very recommended place to stay, due to the good price value, very interesting and unique decor, quiet neighborhood, and amazing views.

The heritage Haveli ambiance truly makes you feel like royalty. Perfect for couples with a romantic atmosphere. The rooftop restaurant adds an extra touch of magic to the experience.

This feels like a harsh rating, after seeing so many high ratings, but I was pretty disappointed with my stay here.
I visited many other Havelis in Jodhpur, to eat at their rooftop restaurants, and all of them were cleaner, had more staff working, and had other people staying there. This place was eerily dead, and the restaurant is closed.
This property is pretty cool, and the view from the roof is incredible, but it’s kind of crumbling apart. The staff does not really speak English (which is ultimately a ME issue for not being able to speak Hindi, but I thought I’d mention it).
I had high expectations for this place because it had such high ratings everywhere I looked, and after staying there I honestly don’t understand how the ratings were so high.
Also, if you’re travelling to Jodhpur for the first time, be cautious of the street dogs. I’ve never encountered more aggressive street dogs in my life (including the one that hangs out around the main gate in front of this place).

100% Jodhpur

It's hard to define my Jodhpur experience last week but all I can say is that I miss this city a lot after continuing my first ever India adventure, and Castle View Guest House is definitely part of this feeling.
I don't know if there's a better view on Fort Merangarh in town but be assured that the one from this place is extraordinary.
What to say about Soni and his staff ? Well you'll have to discover it.
By the way, did you know that a Bollywood movie was recorded in Jodhpur and that the stars of the movie stayed at Castle View Guest House ? But that's another story...
