A beautiful cliff top town on the eastern edge of the island, this place gets very popular in summer. The trip up to the town is a little daunting with all the hairpin bends with sheer drops but if you make it in one piece you will find a charming, bustling town. There are some good food options, albeit expensive, and best of all is the ice cream from Capriccio. There are some large Roman ruins such as a theatre and odeon to explore.
Gorgeous town in Sicily with a short distance from Catania Airport. Very charming but busy with many five stars Hotels and Restaurants, try to stay at San Domenico Palace or Timeo (best hotels).
Taormina is a quaint little town in Sicily, not far from an active volcano, with nice shops and restaurants to visit. We only had a few hours when we were here, but it was definitely fun to explore the shops and the side alleys as well.
Taormina is gorgeous. Perched on the cliffs overlooking the water it is the height of picturesque. We spent the day ambling through the town and then finally climbing higher for a fantastic view if Mount Etna off in the distance.
