Terminal Information - Departing

Edinburgh’s airport is small, but the flights depart to 200 different destinations from here. This means it can become busy, especially in commuting hours – luckily you can find an estimated security queue time online at any time. It doesn’t take long to get to the airport, with the shuttle bus taking just 30 minutes and taxis taking even less time.

There is only one terminal in Edinburgh Airport, and you can use FastTrack in the lanes if you’re in a rush. Before security, there’s an M&S food, WHSmith, travel shop and ICE currency exchange. After security, you’ll find a wide variety of shops including MAC, Next, MaxMara, Fatface, as well as another WHSmith, Superdrug and Scottish gift shop. This is where to stock up on shortbread and whiskey before your flight.

There are also plenty of places to eat in Edinburgh airport: tuck into a sandwich at Eat., a 2 course meal at The Gathering, champagne at Flutes or just a coffee from Costa.

If you’re planning on staying here a while, the Aspire Lounge costs £20 to check into, and you’ll be supplied with a measure of Scotch whiskey, fresh sandwiches and plenty of TV time before your flight.
