Terminal Information - Departing

Kuala Lumpur airport is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world, so it’s definitely worth researching it prior to flying. KLIA and KLIA2 are the same airport, and there’s a 3-minute shuttle bus between the 2 of them. AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines and Malindo swap between the 2 for different flights, but it’s easy to travel between them.

There are plenty of hotels and lounges in both terminals. If you have an early morning flight, the best thing to do is to stay at the airport overnight, as it’s located around an hour away from the city centre.

In KLIA1 and 2, it almost feels like a shopping mall: you can buy clothes, electronics, health foods and children’s toys before boarding your flight. There’s also free Wifi, and lounge access starts at €25.00.
