Terminal Information – Departing

Flybe are based in Terminal 3 in Manchester Airport, which is where most of the domestic and some European flights are handled. You are able to get a bus or train to the airport from the centre of Manchester, or a taxi. Buses and trains arrive into Manchester Airport Station, which is a 10 minute walk from the entrance of the Terminal.

Terminal 3 is a basic, small and modern terminal that's easy to pass through if there are no crowds. There are usually commuters crowds on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons, but queues for security are well managed. Flybe have self check in kiosks you can use before going through security. On the upper level, there is a WHSmith and a Cafe Nero for drinks and snacks.

Once you pass through into Terminal 3, you'll see that there are plenty of places to sit and wait for your flight. Accessorize, Boots, Duty Free, Dixons and WHSmith have most of your airport needs covered, but if you're feeling peckish head to Trattoria Milano or Upper Crust for a bite to eat.

There is an Escape Lounge at Manchester Airport, which costs €25 to check into in advance. You can get a discount if you book in advance online. If you're on a morning flight, you should check out their breakfast menu whilst taking a look at the days papers – they serve stacks of pancakes with syrup!

Terminal Information – Arriving

Knock's Airport might be small, but it has everything you'll need to pass through the Gateway into the West of Ireland. Once you've headed through passport control and security, you'll come into Knock's Arrivals hall. Danann's and Slainte have you covered for food and drink, and there's an ATM in case you need any Euros for coming back into Knock.

There are plenty of bus services for getting to Galway, Sligo, Derry, Ballina, Westport and Achill Island from the airport. The routes are run by Eireann, and run frequently throughout the day. Fares depend on where you alight the bus, but you will need Euros to pay for your ticket. As a point of reference, a bus to Galway costs €13 for one adult, one way – carry €20 on you for the journey.
