It’s also well connected to the rest of Florida by a number of different highways. The airport itself is large, with many smaller roads within to direct the traffic. Popular destinations to drive to from Orlando Airport
Downtown & City Centre
This is Orlando’s business district, and whilst it’s pared back in comparison to the likes of South Orlando, there’s still a colourful cultural scene with festivals, markets and events being held regularly.
It takes 20 minutes to reach the CBD of Orlando. Head north on Jeff Fuqua Blvd when exiting the airport, and take a slight left on Saint Semorlan Boulevard for around 18km, until you are able to take the ramp to Downtown Orlando – but bear in mind, this is a toll road. Keep left to stay on the 408 for 9km, and take exit 11a for Orlando. This will take you into Downtown, where you can easily park in one of the huge car parks in the centre of town. It’s also worth checking to see if your hotel has a car park. Kissimmee
Kissimmee is the ‘all natural’ option when in Florida. Take yourself off to one of the beautiful lakes or try out a swamp tour to see the real side of Florida. The warm weather and beaches make it an ideal beach break at any time.
It takes half an hour to reach Kissimmee. Head south on Jeff Fuqua Blvd, merging onto the 530. Keep on the 530 by turning right onto Simpson Road and Boggy Creek. Turn right onto the 192 moving west, then take a left on east Oak Street for Kissimmee. Kissimmee covers a wide area, so you will be able to find parking if you’re just visiting – especially around the coast.
