Aesthetic eclectic instagramable boutique hotel in the heart of Melbourne CBD with amazing rooftop pool and nice design. Comfortable and spacious room with great amenities. Thank you so much Mr Eddy for efficient check in process and warm welcome, Jan for preparing my room, Mr Chimmy for preparing my coffee, and to all Adelphi Hotel staffs for great services and hospitality.

Hidden gem with unbeatable old-world charm

Stayed two nights at the Adelphi and honestly it exceeded every expectation I had. The lobby entrance has real character, those stairs give the place a boutique charm you just do not find in generic chain hotels. No buffet breakfast means they point you toward genuinely good local spots nearby, which felt more authentic anyway. The room was cozy and quiet, and while the view is more intimate than panoramic, it suited the vibe perfectly. Check-in was seamless and the front desk staff were warm and attentive without being over the top. My Marriott number was pulled up instantly and everything was ready to go. The whole property feels like a hidden gem tucked into the city, absolutly full of personality. I will say the location alone makes it worthwile, close to everything Melbourne has to offer. For travelers who want something with soul rather than a cookie-cutter experience, this is extremely perfect for that. Would return without hesitation.

Booked two rooms for my young family. My youngest is disabled so she needs either wheelchair or pram to get around. There was no access to the lifts, rooms or lobby other than stairs. There is a disability button at the bottom of the stairs that doesn’t do anything. No access for disabled people. They put us in two different floors and didn’t offer any assistance, it was like it was my fault I selected two rooms and I should know that the particular room only has one on each floor. I asked for a rollaway bed they tried to charge me despite it being advertised as included. The rooms are noisy from flinders lane and it’s pretty dated. It was way over priced for what it was, felt like a glorified hostel. It was clean and the housekeeping was lovely but having to carry your disabled family member up and down stairs where strangers in the street offer to help but the reception just shrug their shoulders isn’t good enough. Location is fine but I should have gone elsewhere…

Give the Adelphi a miss

NO candy
NO free soft drink and poor minibar
NO dressing gowns
NO heating. Required 2 little plug in heaters to get the room above 17.4deg
NO privacy - hotel staff entered the room when I was taking a bath. NO knocking NO attempt to see if the room was empty. When asked to leave they walked past the bathroom and instead of looking away they looked in!
NO compensation and the thinnest of apologies
NO way I would recommend this hotel

Very good value for money, relatively spacious, centrally located. Interesting space - 80’s, designed to be immersed in. A little tired though and impacted by the renovations happening on the restaurant - making entrance dark/a little cramped.
