Book hotels in Barcelona for Spanish romance
Nevermind sun, sea and sangria: when you book Barcelona city breaks it's all about art, architecture and artisan cuisine. Bizarre buildings designed by Gaudi, like the Sagrada Familia, dot the city and there are museums celebrating the works of Picasso and Dali. Nights out on Las Ramblas and in the Barri Gòtic Quarter start late and end even later, soaked up by plates of contemporary tapas. With beaches to stroll along and plenty of cocktail bars with stunning views, Barcelona is easily one of the most romantic city breaks in Europe: and we've got the Barcelona hotel deals to make your trip even more special.
Where to stay in Barcelona
The Bari Gòtic (Gothic Quarter) is a warren of cobblestoned streets lined with great bars and restaurants, perfect for getting lost in. Hotels in the Barcelona Gothic Quarter are central and great for party animals. If you like to be beside the seaside, look for hotels in Barceloneta – this is the beach district and has plenty of swanky bars and restaurants as well as chic hotels and apartments. Hotels in El Born are the best of both worlds, halfway between the beach and the shops and nightlife. Look for Hotels in Eixample if you prefer roads with a grid system and want to be close to big shops and attractions like Sagrada Familia church.
Beach resorts near Barcelona
City breaks not for you? Look for hotels on the Costa Brava, just outside Barcelona. This stretch of coastline is home to some of Europe's best Blue Flag beaches as well as family resorts. It's within striking distance of Barcelona, if you fancy some sightsee, but great for those looking for the quintessential Spanish beach break. Hotels in Lloret de Mar, Estartit and Tossa de Mar are popular with families and groups on lads (and lass's) weekends.
Barcelona hotels: what to expect
Chain hotels in Barcelona offer some great prices near the city centre and beach. Offbeat hostels and boutique hotels line the cobblestoned streets of neighbourhoods like the Barri Gòtic, and you'll find Barcelona hotels with balconies overlooking Las Ramblas. Barcelona hotels with pools are essential in the summer when temperatures soar. Some hotels have roof terraces, perfect for gazing out at the skyline while sipping something refreshing.
Getting to and from Barcelona hotels
The Barcelona Bus Turístic makes getting between the top sights easy. There are three lines: red, green and blue, covering all of the places of interest in Barcelona. There's also an underground metro system if you'd rather make your own way around the city. Renfe trains offer overground connections between Barcelona and the airport, as well as to further destinations such as the Costa Brava. First-time visitors might find a Barcelona City Card useful, as it includes free rides on public transport and reduced entry to more than 100 attractions.

Beautiful city with a vibrant foodie and art scene. Hip, great place to visit. This was my very first city I ever visited in Europe and it will always hold a special place in my heart as a result. Go here, you won't regret it!
One of the world's most beautiful and interesting cities. Although it has gotten MUCH more touristy that it used to be 10+ years ago, it's still a major draw for so many because it is THAT wonderful.
Great if you like the architecture. Lots to do, even on a budget. Bus tour is a great way to see Barcelona.
