It is a shambles

The whole hotel is in shambles….the room looked ok but not that clean..see photos..bed was comfy….the hotel said it had Tab but no tables to do punting..races were on a small tv but no where to actually punt!
the room was horrendous..not cleaned properly for a start and everything is rusty and there are cobwebs !

The property was very well located for the functions we had to attend. Having the Hotel below was great and made it easy to get a drink and a feed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very dated and in need of some renovation. Shower fitting was leaking quite badly. Mirror was high and facing the toilet. Chairs were 2 white stools not very comfortable for people in their 70's! Our stay of 3 nights while comfortable for the price paid was very poor value. I've stayed in hotels all around the world and I don't think I would stay there again. Couldn't even replenish milk from day one or replace towels maybe they are trying to save the planet?

It's an old property. You can see marks and cracks on wall. No hot water in the morning when I tried to take a shower.
Staff is very friendly though.

Awesome

The Archibald is a historic hotel. It is comfortable but not 5 star. If you after a hotel that treats you with hot rocks and brings you still water in the morning, not the Archibald.
In the positive, we were greeted by the publican Andrew, and he was fabulous.
Andrew personally escorted us to our accommodation, allowing us to see the original sandstone foundations .
The view is to die for.
If you want a personal, authentic experience, then 5 stars for the Archibald. Thankyou guys. We will be back.
