Amazing family owned Hotel
Very friendly family owns and runs the Hotel + Restaurant in the cosy location “Mellau”. The Hotel is renovated but kept traditional in the design. ALL rooms have balconies with a great view - cosy feeling included !! Recommend the Hotel to everyone who comes here.

Hiking week
At the end of June, my husband and I were guests at the Kanisfluh with our hiking group for 6 nights.
Positive points: good location in town, not far from the buses or the cable car, the renovated rooms including bathrooms are fine, the staff is friendly, quick, and helpful.
The culinary offerings are in need of improvement - at breakfast there were only white flour pastries, no rye, whole grain, or dark bread or small baked goods, which are simply a must in Austria; however, we really liked the freshly cut fruit.
At dinner, there is a greater need for improvement from our perspective, because many things were too salty. Every evening, several people noted that it was too salty - the answer always remained the same: the cook is in love, and the food remained too salty until the end, even though it would be quite simple - anyone can add salt, but you cannot remove it.

The best time behind
3 nights Thu - Sun, room stale furnished. Television program wildly confused without any indication of channel occupancy.
Dinner "3 course menu" with salad buffet. Very small portions (price performance not fair),
Tip: For main course right at the beginning get salad again otherwise is cleared.
soups cooked close to salt, 3x cream soups were too watery, impression of soup powder,
Salad buffet was not freshly prepared every evening, on the last evening from the beginning at 18:00 o'clock was partly only sediment in the salad bowls,
Breakfast buffet was so far i. O., on the first morning with salmon with dried, grated horseradish, but not anymore. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Sauna indoor very good(normal, organic, steam bath), outdoor questionable. Sauna not generally heated but only after request from the guest, possibly only possible from 16:00, will be switched off at 18:00!?! Preheat for 45 minutes! Bathrobe with rental fee.
Tip Overnight stay with breakfast and dinner elsewhere.
1 wheat Franciscan 6,40 !!!! totally overpriced.
Hotel is past its heyday.

Disappointment!
Very disappointing! Some of the rooms are very thin and old-fashioned, you can hear snoring in the next room, showers or toilets in other rooms, the hotel and the food are definitely not designed/set up for vegetarians, for example, there was the same soup three times as a "replacement", there were no labels on the salads etc., i.e. whether they were suitable for vegetarians or not. My companion had spaghetti with mussels on New Year's Eve, and there were some mussel remains. Then they charged a 45 EUR New Year's Eve surcharge, there wasn't even a glass of champagne or something similar, so in my opinion the surcharge was not justified. The TV reception was also sometimes poor.

Wir sind ein traditionelles Haus im Bregenzer Wald, das viele Fleischgerichte anbietet - auf Anfrage im Vorfeld allerdings auch vegetarische/vegane Alternativen vorbereiten kann, das hätten wir telefonisch oder per Mail gern ausräumen können.
Unser Servicepersonal ist auch immer ansprechbar in Bezug auf Zutaten oder Inhaltsstoffe.
Wie Sie hoffentlich bei Ihrer Buchung gesehen haben, verstecken wir weder unsere Zimmerkategorien, noch verheimlichen wir, dass unser Haus schon etwas älter ist, wir allerdings stetig daran arbeiten.

Calm hotel with a great breakfast!
My dad, my sister and I stayed in this hotel for one night. The room looked quite old fashioned, but is clean and nice. We really enjoyed the breakfast which offers a wide range of cheese ! Though, if you are here to visit Bregenz, it may not be the best location (45 minutes by car)
