Excellent food and service as usual

Our favorite mountain restaurant did not disappoint us, as usual! Free WiFi works well. This year I discovered Speckknodel with bouillon soup (bacon dumpling), just right for a light ski lunch. The teenagers as usual had Schnitzel and fries, followed by Kaiserschmeren with vanilla sauce (an egg/flour/sugar combination?) that they discovered here and love. Husband went for salad- this restaurant has the best and most interesting salad bar on the mountain. Generous seating arrangements, both inside and out, very clean and well designed loos, and very tasteful decor. Service is great, friendly and efficient, as usual. Well done Hollboden team- we will be back.

Noisy, dated, no facilities and expensive

Have skied in Austria many times, and enjoyed great service and accommodation.
This hotel is well below par. As others have said there are no facilities, reception is down the road and no communal areas to relax other than your room which has swirly carpets and 80s decor.
I had the pleasure of drunken Dutch men next door keeping me awake till gone 2am.
I do not recommend this hotel and will not stay again.

Not what I expected

When I book via booking.com, the address and GPS location shows a completely different location in town. Where I wanted to stay.
Also, I was not advised that I needed to go to a different hotel to check in. A 15-minute walk with suitcases and snow.
The bar below the hotel rooms blocks the door to the lift. Either with drinks and trolleys in the lift or by having the door open so I could not get in the lift.
Check out. Nowhere to store suitcases while transport arrives. unlike every other hotel
Burger King had the kitchen door open into the stairwell. Not only is this a fire risk. It also makes your clothes smell and makes the outside of your hotel room door smell

Surprisingly Great Location for the Lifts

The major issue in considering the Hollboden is location. Across the street and just yards from the hotel is a fabulous moving walkway that takes one under the town and brings one out directly in front of one of the major lifts up the mountain. This made getting to and from the lifts in ski boots more convenient than any hotel we have ever stayed at in the Alps. The hotel is also right along the middle of the main street, with shops and great restaurants very close by in either direction. The location is not as convenient for check in and check out, as that is done at Hotel Solaria, which is maybe a fifteen minute walk away.
There is no hotel desk, etc., at Hollboden, with the exception of the breakfast room. The people handling the breakfast service, though, were very friendly and helpful. Also, the hotel staff at Solaria were readily available by phone and whether by phone or in person were very friendly and very helpful, particularly with regard to one issue that arose.
Our room itself was large, clean, and inviting. Were we going back to Ischgl, we would almost certainly choose the Hollboden again.

Perfect location, nice spacious rooms, a bit loud because located on the main street

This hotel is part of the bigger and more luxurious Solaria hotel. The location of this place is perfect, right on main street and right next to the dorftunnel very close by the skilift (approx 40 meters walk and two 40 meter long conveyor belts you can stand on). The hotel is above the local Burger King and Pizzeria Hollboden.
There is no central reception, you pick up the key at the reception in the Solaria hotel. On the back of the building (Hollboden) is a keycard entry to the hotel). Inside you find a room to heat and dry you skiboots and a room to store your ski's and boards. The rooms are on the upper levels which can be reached with stairs or an elevator.
The restaurant serves breakfast between 7:30 and 10 in the morning. Different kinds of breads, juices, cheeses, hams, sausages and egg variations are served in a buffet setup. Further on coffee and tea are available. The restaurant is the pizzaria at night time, you eat in a separate room they only use for serving breakfast.
Rooms are spacious, separate toilet, bathroom with bath and shower combined. Everything looking fine and not old. Beds are comfy with the typical Austrian duvet on top. Two of those per kingsize bed. Since you are based on the main street some noise can be heard at nighttime. If you're bothered with that - choose another hotel. You're dead center!!!
