Great hotel, fantastic staff

I visited this hotel with a group of friends for a skiing holiday in March, we found a clean well presented Chalet hotel with all the amenities you'd expect from this type of accommodation with an excellent young staff, all within a few minutes walk of one of the best ski resorts in the Tyrol for both skiing and the all important aprés. The food and the choice of wines with the evening meals were well considered and beautifully presented and served with a smile. All in all a fantastic holiday. I'm sure we would come back, many thanks to Freya and her team!

Extremely dubious behaviour....

... when booking or cancelling and withholding the deposit.
At the beginning of November I booked an apartment for 4 people in Chalet Belmonte. The deposit was 202€. On 18.11.25 I cancelled the apartment by email - within the free cancellation period. Unfortunately, no confirmation of cancellation came, which surprised me. Then I sent my cancellation by email again on November 28, 25, with this reminder email being scheduled two days after the free cancellation time.
Again, no response or feedback whatsoever, which surprised me a lot.
Only on 9.1.26 I received an email with pre-checkon request from Chalet Belmonte.
Now I thought...I think I'm standing in the woods...that's an outrage.
Immediately answered the email, informed me of my incomprehension, reminded me again of my written cancellations and demanded the refund of my deposit of 202€. Chalet Belmonte said my email with the cancellation had not been received by you. I presented this with email history and Chalet Belmonte retorted you cannot confirm email receipt. Speak the Chalet Belmonte did not believe me and accused me of absolutely having to follow up by phone.
Ultimately, some emails and phone calls went back and forth, would be put off that he still has something to clarify.
Then there was again the fact that a verifiable email from me is not supposed to have arrived.
At the end of the day, I'm like a supplicant in front of me, with no chance. Legal action would cost me more than losing the €202.
The last email from Chalet Belmonte came a week after my last phone call with his wife.
In addition to some incomprehensible insinuations, he reaffirms his point of view again without any accommodation, no overnight voucher, nothing at all.
Fact is I am 202€ poorer without any quid pro quo.
Describe this in such detail here, as I am unspeakably excited and totally mad.
I've come across such an incredible thing.

Poor attention to detail

Hotel seemed on first glances clean and tidy, but upon unpacking suite cases found wardrobe shelves thick with dust. Also sticky patch on the carpet at the side of the bed.
When looking round for the sauna area the corridor outside it smelt very strongly of hydraulic oil or something similar, the saunas smelt of rotten eggs which was a very pungent smell, and the sauna was cold every day and we had to ask for it turning on.
When we asked for change of towels we were told it was an Austrian custom to use the same ones all week which we have never heard of before!
When asking for different food for children on a morning for evening meal it seemed like we were asking for something they were not used to. The only member of staff who seemed really helpful was Tom, the rest seemed like they were more interested in getting out on the slopes themselves and we were just an inconvenience for them. While there was nothing majorly wrong and there were many more little things other than the ones mentioned it was all the small things added together that spoiled the experience of our holiday.

Good chalet hotel

The chalet is on the outskirts but only a few minutes from the lifts and apres bars. We got a warm welcome, the rooms were good and the food very good. Chalet staff were excellent, friendly and always helpful. One minor issue is that it's always too warm. Breakfast choices were decent although the hot options are good they were usually lukewarm. Afternoon tea was nice with hot soup too, which is a good idea, and the evening meals very good. Wine quality was good with 4 or 5 options but it's served rather than having bottles left on the table so you can help yourself. The bar is useful although prices no better than the bars in town. No complaints about the rooms, most have Austrian twins in case that's a problem for some. The sauna etc are usefue after skiing. The boot room is decent but we rented lockers by the main lift as it saves the walk in ski boots and makes it easier for aprés. The are plenty of bars etc around but the main part is of town is a 10 min walk via the Dorftunnel. It's definitely the more picturesque and upmarket side of the town on the other side. But there's plenty on offer and easier slope access near the Belmonte. It'd be hard to beat this chalet all said and I'd even say Ischgl boasts a better range of skiing and bars than St. Anton even.

Great team work from the staff

With 30 of u s guys staying for the week it wasnt going to be easy for the staff, but hats off to them! The service was about as good as it gets. For the young chef to turn out the level of food that she did was impressive. Set about 500m from the main lift makes it just right to warm your legs up beforea days skiing. Accomodation is clean and with all the facilities that you need inc free Wi Fi. Certainly one of the better chalets weve been to over the past 15 years. And i have no doubt the staff bumped it up a level. Well done guys! :)
