Fabulous place to stay for a winter break

From the man at the reception to the Hungarian lady in the breakfast room, the handy location at the very slope, transport from the train station, and the cafés and restaurant around, I could not say more than my utmost admiration of this place. The most amazing was our triple room with balcony overlooking the snowy mountain. Will definitely recommend to everyone.

far too expensive - expected so much more for this price

stayed in 2 different rooms - both i would suggest are 20 to 40 euros too expensive based on many other places stayed in Austria. for both rooms the bathrooms are very small and with no hand wash or shower gel - the suites bathroom is private and separate down a corridor right next to another room - there is no lock and so not so private for a room costing €150+ !!! alos in this room there were holes in the sheets, some of which were stitched up !! balconies off both rooms were very bland in a town whre flowers on balconies are a given. there is never anyone on reception, no bed side light in the small bedroom - called a single but okay as a double. i could go on ..... i juts think that when you are paying over 120 euros for a room in a bed and breakfast then it should be a more special - both rooms here were certainly not. more fool us for paying so much !!!

To expensive

We stages in the suite die 3 nights. Tuis is a clean room, with a separate room with a couch. The furniture is very basic and so is the bed. The rooms are Harley decorated. The snik in the bathroom is extremely small. The panorama is nice. You can hear the people on the higher Floor walking, since the floors are made of wood. The breakfast is very basic too.

Overnight stay in Landhaus Semmering

We stayed for one night in the basement room. I thought the price was fair at €98 with tax and breakfast. The room was fairly clean, with a small but functional bathroom. There were good facilities for leaving skis and boots to dry. Breakfast was tasty - the bread rolls were of marvellous quality. The staff were friendly and helpful. The guest house is a particularly good location if you are mostly using the beginners’ ski slope, as we were. To get to the main slopes on the other side of the valley took me about 8 minutes - first skiing down the hill, then walking up the other side to the lift station. I would stay here again, but try and get one of the better rooms with a view. Overall, Semmering is a good ski resort if you don’t want to travel too far from Vienna, and if you’re just staying a couple of days so don’t need a huge resort. One thing about the ski offering I would have enjoyed is a couple more blue runs on the Zauberberg, as I am an intermediate skier and the red runs are very steep and challenging. However, it was a great choice for us overall.

Nice location, friendly staff

The pension is situated within easy walking distance to ski slopes, 5 minutes from Mt. Zauberberg. The staff were friendly and Mr. Thomas spoke good English. Breakfast was good. Our room had a nice view of the mountain and the separate lounge area was a nice touch. The room and bathroom was clean and well kept. They provided assistance with taxi to the train station and general information on the area and things to do. Will gladly stay here again!
