Positive stay

We stayed in two for three nights, our room was cozy, clean and equipped with the necessary comforts.
The host extremely kind and helpful to our specific request, very precise in the directions to find the pension and keys
The apartment is located a few minutes walk from the lilac metro stop and anyway not far from the center
Refrigerator, microwave, dishes, cutlery, glasses and kettle available in the common area

Spirit of adaptation.

Really convenient because downtown, without any obligation because they give you the keys like an Airbnb, but basically you rent a room in an old condominium, very old-fashioned furniture and the bathroom is really 50s.... It is true that proportionally it costs little, however, as the saying goes.... Spend little enjoy little.

Pension

The main advantage of this Pension is of course it's location : 5 min walk to Rathaus. Also it was not so expensive for Vienna.
I did not expected much, but nevertheless, some aspects were still frustrating. Like for instance electrical issues, that were switching off the hot water right in the middle of your showering. Not very convenient, as you have to go to the main corridor to switch it on again... Wi-fi connection in our room did not worked. If those are not issues for you, why not to stay. The furniture and all facilities in the room are old and well-worn. But it was always warm in the room, we were in winter.
The host sent us the bottle of sparkling wine and a box of chocolate for the new year's eve, which was very nice.

Location, location, location, (and air conditioning!)

This would have been a 2 star review but I'm bumping it to 3 stars due to the location (feels like the UES in NYC) and AC... The pension itself was clean however they really need to scrub the floors. The floors were so filthy that each day I had black dirt on my feet. There were a few black hairs in the shower. The place is in dire need of repairs and a deep scrubbing. Cracks all over the place, air filters that are built up, and black stuff on the walls of the bathroom. Also despite all the no smoking signs, there was clearly smoke from someone smoking when you go in/out of the pension in the shared area. I smelled it during most of my stay. It was a mix of that and mildew.
There were a number of steps to get up to the pension as well so if you have a large piece of luggage like I did, good luck as I counted over 30. The kitchen is shared with a few other people each in their own room (think of it as a hostel with private rooms only). It does not have a stove, oven, or sink. You have a small shared fridge and microwave. The bed wasn’t comfortable, the comforter was very thin, and the pillows were not full.iThe towels were thin as well but also very rough. The detergent they use has an awful heavy smell to it. There was some street noise late at night but I had ear plugs with me.
The location for the price was fairly good, but if I were to return to Vienna I would be willing to pay more for a hotel in or near the same area with no fridge or AC as long as a stand up fan was provided. It got me through a few days but I would pay more for someplace more comfortable (and I’m always on a budget).

Very budget but good price

The room was spacious however a bit dirty. There were hairs on the sheets on our beds and the bathroom (especially the shower) were really dirty. The location is good though, close to the tube, trams, and the cathedral i.e. innerstadt. There is a kettle outside and a few utensils to make a quick snack which is nice. However, they have coffee but not tea which is disappointing. Also, in the bathroom there is a sign to leave your towels on a hanger if you want to reuse them. Despite this our towels were changed which is annoying and a bit unnecessary! We stayed here in winter but the room was really warm thanks to the heater and warm blankets. Wifi works well
