Lovely friendly basic hotel!

We’ve stayed here for 3 years running after stumbling upon this lovely hotel whilst visiting Oostende for the Paulusfeesten music festival. Location is great - festival square 100m to the right and the marina 100m to the left.
The hotel is basic and dated but always clean and the multi-lingual lady that runs it is friendly and personal. Breakfast is an extended continental style and has always been fantastic too.
Parking is not easy close by but there is free parking around the park which is a 10 min walk past the marina.
For the price and convenience this place is perfect if you’re travelling to Oostende for the festivals, Belgian beers or the beach!
Haven’t booked this year yet but will be doing in the near future!

The Hotel Ocelot is not a hotel; it is a climbing wall.

A very basic hostelry, offering simple but adequate rooms in an excellent central location near the Mercator Marina and Station. Not all rooms are en-suite, so check if that is important to you, and the building is tall and narrow... if you don't like stairs, go elsewhere. Bed was OK, no desk or table. I rate it as a 2 because it describes itself as a hotel, but there are no hotel facilities...the bar didn't seem to be open (at least, the door wasn't) and there is no restaurant or reception. The internet connection was terrible. Considering the facilities, it was not a cheap option.
I travelled with a dog, which was acceptable but at an extra charge which was not mentioned at booking.
The lady who checked me in was English-speaking and a very pleasant, chatty and helpful person.

So so

The room was very clean. It's a basic room which for £69, I think is quite expensive. there's no reception and the owner/receptionist and whatever else she does - is the only staff. Choose this hotel if it's the last place available in Ostend.

Nice Place

This is Ideal place for a budget hotel it is right in the town centre, and close to all the shops beach and restaurants...the main rail station is also round the corner, we enjoyed our stay here and the landlady made us more than welcome and was very helpful I would recommend this hotel very good value for money... thank you Dal

Short stay

We ended up at this hotel having just arrived in ostende. Perfect location, very quirky. Breakfasts were lovely and staff awesome! We really enjoyed our stay and have booked again for this year. Only negative and it's minor no hairdryer but I had my own ☺️
