A surprisingly great stay

We were in Vitória for only one night, as we actually wanted to go to Rio (of course).
Though Vitória isn’t the prettiest city it does have its charm, and this hostel certainly is charming!
It was super cheap so we weren’t expecting much, but we were super surprised when we got there. It is spacious and has a lovely old-fashioned style, with a beautiful living room, dining room and small terrace. If you want to hang out, inside or outside, this hostel is great! The people and the staff are very nice and helpful, though there weren’t too many guests when we were there because Carnaval was just over.
The dorms are good, only not too much room for your backpack. Lockers present.
Also, hot showers (we hadn't had a hot shower for quite a long time actually) and nice, clean and spacious bathrooms. I do think there could have been more toilets. It was fine now, but if it’s busy...
The location is very good, you can walk to a lot of interesting things and it is quite safe.

Good stay, spoiled by a bad apple

The place is ok, good value for money. There is coffee available for guests. One problem is that the kitchen is upstairs and they create problems because you can't go up before check-in or after check-out, and they are very strict about that. And if you are going to leave after check-out and come back later to get your things, would you have to take items out of the fridge so they start to spoil? I left things in the fridge and about 3 or 4 items out too. I went up to get them, and the manager, who was in the kitchen and saw that I didn't use the stove or anything, got mad at me afterwards, wanting to charge a day-use fee, just because I also left the table a little dirty. That woman has no talent for dealing with hospitality, her presence there is like a glitch, doesn't harmonize with the rest. She's been a public school teacher all her life, and now at the end of her career they've put her in a job for which she has no aptitude whatsoever. I understand that it's not at all nice to have left the table a bit dirty (a little of powder fell from a package), and I felt bad, but she didn't know how to handle the situation, she was rude and got into an emotional confrontation with me, as if she was angry. Unprofessional. The other employees are good, but they made a mistake with the choice for manager.

Homecoming after a long trip

I arrived on Christmas day, assuming it was Christmas night. This could have been super akward, but I was received with open arms. Every day we would go on a day trip with everyone who had a day off, which was a great way to see Vitoria and surroundings. Vitoria is a non-touristy yet beautiful city, the breakfast is sweet and the house is a beautiful old building. But really, the staff makes this place. The trips, live music, parties and diners shared will be good memories forever, thank you so much :)

Perfect place to pass by

I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed myself. I made friends with the guests and staff. Everyone was helpful in giving me directions and we all kinda did things together as a group. It has easy access to the beaches to Vila Velha and other common spots. The house itself is very beautiful and spacious. The breakfast however needs an upgrade!

Nice, cosy hostel

Great for this price (35r for dorm room): nice breakfast, easy to meet people, a lot of books and art and decorations. Hygiene was ok, privacy in the dorm was bad (but it's a dorm), service at arrival was a little hasty (and no-one spoke english) but friendly. Good for backpackers.
