Very quirky place , some of the staff need to smile more but we did really like the place

Having arrived in the early hours of the morning we had quite the adventure trying to find this place , it is off the beaten track however that is part of its charm , when we got there we were greeted by a man of very few words but then again it was 4 am so we can forgive him for that , our room was basic but clean and warm and at £27 we wasn’t expecting much ! The wonderful surprise came in the morning when we had our first proper view of the place ! The grounds are immaculately manicured ,with beautiful lawns and flora , there is a pet feature with rabbits and Guinie pigs all which look well looked after and clean , there are cultural features which are all very tastefully done and interesting , the restaraunt is a bit dated but all good and there was a few family party’s on whilst we were there which made for a good atmosphere , like I say some of the staff were a bit grumpy but it was the end of the season but all in all amazing value for money and a great littl find

Misleading Reservation and Poor Customer Treatment

At the time of the reservation at the restaurant within the complex, we clearly stated that we would be coming with dogs and asked if that would be an issue. We were told it wouldn’t be, with the only condition being that we wouldn’t be seated inside – which we fully understood and accepted.
Upon arrival, however, the exact opposite happened – we were seated indoors with no alternative for the dogs and their owners, despite there being available options in the smoking area and the outdoor section. No effort was made to accommodate us or offer any solution.
At the same time, the owners of the complex were seated outside with a dog, which makes the situation even more absurd and highlights a clear double standard.
All of this happened on Easter – a family holiday that we were forced to spend separated, as one person had to stay outside with the dogs. To make matters worse, they even refused to serve that person outside.
We understand that every restaurant has its own policy. However, if we had been told during the reservation that pets were not allowed, we would have simply chosen another place instead of being misled and having our holiday ruined.
This is a complete lack of organization, respect for customers, and consistency between what is promised and what is delivered. Extremely disappointing – we will not be returning.
