Centrally located

Enjoyed our single night stay here. It’s centrally located. The bed had a new mattress and was very comfortable. The sheets were clean.
The decor was a bit tired but charming and the house is old, so the plumbing is also a bit old.
The staff were friendly. We overslept for breakfast, but the menu looked nice.
It has a huge pretty garden around the back.

Fancy stylish and comfortable

Heavy doors with noisy locks.
Other than that a great facility. Firniture, stairs, rooms, wallpaper  full bathroom.
I have no words to describe it. Just look at the pictures yourself.
And the breakfast was very good.
If I ever travel again here I will stop at this really Victorian inn.

1 night in Antigonish NS

Shabby. The outside looks charming from a distance. Then you walk up to the entrance and the uh-oh moment happens. It starts with the peeling paint on the steps and walls. The narrow hallway between the entrance and the private area is the only common place to sit and filled with old and shabby furniture. No one would want to sit there and read a book.
The feeling continues when you get into the Queen Anne bedroom.
It’s a bunch of little things that together leave the impression of an innkeeper that doesn’t care.
The loose toilet seat. The faucet handle that feels like it could come off in your hand when you use it. The broken blinds in the bedroom and bathroom - blinds that appear to have been sourced at a dollar store. The cheap corner shower stall that you would expect to find in a cheap motel. The privacy blinds in the bedroom that don’t go up or down.
Most of these issues could be put right with a little maintenance.
Even a new set of dollar store blinds would be an improvement.

DISAPPOINTING

dirty floor in Library Room, signage posted for room to be made up, late return bed was stripped, not made, dirty water glasses not replaced, stayed here years ago, so very sad to see this former heritage inn in such a state of disrepair, clearly the fault of new ownership

Really, really bad...

WARNING: please do not stay here. The room floor and shower were filthy; breakfast was not served until 8:30am on a week day (so, was missed due to me having a job); tap water was absolutely disgusting and no alternative available (even to purchase); no coffee in room or available anywhere prior to breakfast start; I saw NOBODY actually working at the front desk or anywhere else during my stay, felt unsafe - I rang the front desk bell multiple times and no one came; no phone number available to call... calling the number available on google fwds to 'the person you have dialed is not answering and does not have voicemail'; bed was stiff as a board and only 1 thin blanket was in the room, I was cold overnight; air conditioning unit wouldn't turn on; no ice or fridge available in the room or elsewhere (there is a tiny ice maker in the lobby, did not produce any ice during my stay).
