2 night stay

A different and pleasant expereince. Very quaint and cosy place with 7 rooms and a common living room and kitchen for guests. Owners were not in. Went fishing. Newly furnished. Rooms has its own fridge and coffee maker. Water from tap is slightly brownish, but it is the same with other hotels too. Wifi is a bit slow.
Recommended stay.

Nice find

We didn't expect to be in St. Anthony's and after trying three locations we went to the Tourist Info Centre for a recommendation. Staff had left but a very helpful lady with the gift shop found the Crows Nest Inn for us for the night. Super location and great host. We saw our first iceberg the next day close to the Inn. The room was only available for one night and the owner helped us find a place close by for the second night. Super helpful!

Not Happy

We checked in and got to our rooms. All was well and we went to shop for dinner and breakfast food and $117 later I returned . Then the surprise of our stay. The stove doesn’t work. Nor the BBQ.
How about a sign that says “Stove Doesn’t Work” or better yet, tell all the guests when they arrive.
So what does one do with $117 worth of bacon and eggs and dinner food that you can’t cook???
Perhaps remove the stove, frying pans, spatulas???

Peaceful location

The Crows Nest Inn is in a very peaceful location. Our room was upstairs and was smaller than we had hoped for but it was comfortable and had lovely views down to the harbour. The bathroom was very good and had everything we needed. Downstairs there is always access to kettle, tea, coffee, cookies etc which we appreciated and there are nice seating areas for guests.
The disappointing thing for us was the lack of any conversation from the host - he is clearly a talented artist and a local person but he was just so reluctant to engage in any conversation. It would have been good to hear more about how he makes his art work and to talk to him about the area in general. Peggy on the other hand was brilliant - sjhe really told us a great deal about life in that part of newfoundland, about the problems in the winters, the community spirit and so on and it was a delight to talk to her.
