So and so

My experience at Czech Inn was ordinary. Big pluses, but also some minuses or question marks.
First of all very good: breakfast. Something you will find in very few hostels is a rich breakfast buffet. Whoever books here, I recommend to also have breakfast. The coffee in the breakfast room/cellar is also great. In the evenings, the same room serves as a bar. When an activity is planned, there are some people, otherwise you have to be lucky. Especially as a solo traveler, you can experience a barrier to entering here. I would have liked to have used the cellar area between breakfast and the opening of the bar to get to know people.
Another positive: the location. Next to the hotel is a quiet park. Also the tram stop so close to the hostel is top notch. You're in the center very quickly. I also think that there is often and thoroughly enough brushing. The toilets are always neat. The rooms are also spacious enough, the beds are good, the sheets are clean (and inclusive!) and the lockers under the bed big enough. The café on the ground floor is also cozy, although it could be bigger.
Now some negative points. I booked a bed in a mixed dorm. When I arrived there were already two men, also solo travelers, but they were over 39 years old, although the FAQ of the hostel says: "Is there an age limit at Czech Inn Hostel?
Czech Inn does not have any age limits on the guests who can stay with us. However, in our shared dormitory rooms we can only accept guests aged between 18-39 years old. If you do not meet these criteria you are most welcome to stay in one of our great private rooms or apartments." I didn't like this as a young woman.
Furthermore, you can hear the sound from outside, especially in a room on the side of the tram line, and the people outside. Earplugs come in handy. There is also little privacy. There is half a curtain for each bed, so you can only cover your upper body slightly when you sleep. A full curtain doesn't seem like a luxury. I also missed a coat rack for everyone's coat. Now I have put it in the locker every time, but of course it fills up quickly.
I also found it a pity not to get a card or something with recommendations from places nearby. And one last negative point: it took a very long time for the showers to get warm enough. There is also no faucet to turn the shower on or off, but one button with which you can keep the water flowing for 5 seconds each time. Too bad!
If I come to Prague again in the future, I would only like to stay in a private room at Czech Inn.

Hello Mieke,Thank you for taking the time to share such balanced feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the breakfast, coffee, location, and cleanliness, and that the beds and lockers worked well for you. We’re sorry parts of your stay felt less comfortable. For mixed dorms, our setup includes key‑card access, privacy curtains, and shared bathrooms; while guests don’t select a specific room at booking, our reception is available 24/7 to help change rooms or bunks if availability allows—whether to a quieter spot, a smaller dorm, a female‑only dorm when available, or a private room. Our dorm bunks use partial curtains to keep air circulating; some layouts don’t have full bed curtains, and the team can suggest more private bed options or room types on request.Regarding noise, rooms facing busier streets can pick up city sounds. If you’re a lighter sleeper, please let us know during your stay—when possible, we can look into a different bed within the room, offer earplugs, or discuss alternatives like a smaller dorm or a private room, subject to availability. If anything is unclear during check‑in—such as room types, building access, or nearby tips—please reach out to the desk anytime so we can share accurate details and local recommendations. We appreciate your notes on the bar flow, coat hooks, and shower experience. Your perspective helps us keep aiming for the comfortable, easy stay we want every guest to have. Thanks again for staying with us. We’d be happy to welcome you back—perhaps in a private room for the quiet and privacy you prefer—on a future visit to Prague.Best regards,Czech Inn team

Czech Inn has it all!

This place is an excellent hostel for people of all ages. I traveled with a friend and we booked a private room. Excellent location, very comfy room with a sink included, access to clean restrooms/showers, access to laundry, atm, kitchen, coffee shop, and even a beautiful basement pub in the same building. They've thought of just about everything. Would book again.

Lovely to stay there and in Praha :)). Praha is my fav city. U don't need to do a lot of efforts to take pics just take pics and gonna be masterpieces. Anyway, this hostel was nice and ppl who work there were so nice. Lovely. Thank u guys. Hope see u again :)♡ @Alexanderjinkim

Wonderful stay at a hidden gem in Prague - clean, quiet and welcoming – highly recommend!

I stayed at the Czech Inn for two nights and was extremely happy with my stay. I booked a single room and it was amazing – very clean, quiet and comfortable. It did not feel like hostel accommodation at all, but more like a lovely 4-star hotel room. The staff were very kind, friendly and helpful, which made the stay even better. It really is a gem in the Prague centre and I would definitely come back. Highly recommended.
