Hostel Macaw: great place to stay in Guayaquil, Ecuador

Fanny Paltan, proprietor, is the Hostess with the Mostess. She assisted our time in Ecuador tirelessly every step of the way with critical information about being safe in the country. Delicious breakfasts. She hired our guide for our two weeks land tour in the Galapagos. Our tour guide Fernando Z. C. was stupendous. He as knowledgeable about all things Galapagos from plate tectonics to ocean currents, all the flora and fauna of the islands and the islands history.
The hostel itself was clean and accommodating with a lovely private garden in the back. Fanny made us bus and hotel reservations for us when we left for Quito. Definitely thumbs up all around.

Hostal Macaw Guayaquil: Our home away from home!

Hostal Macaw has become our home away from home! During our recent stay just a week ago, the amazing staff – Fanny, Rodrigo, and everyone else – once again exceeded our expectations. They are true hospitality professionals, ensuring every stay is extraordinary, memorable, and, most importantly, safe. Their meticulous attention to detail is truly impressive, and we can't thank them enough for making us feel so welcome.

The operators (and I assume owners) of Hostal Macaw are super friendly and very nice. Their kindness takes this lodging to the next level. They also speak good English which helped.
The rooms were nice. A/C worked great. Wifi worked adequately. And the free breakfast is a nice perk. My flight left at 04:30am and they even made a sandwich and gave it to me along with a banana fort the plane ride.
