Perfect for ladies solo travelers

I had a great stay at Wake Up Hotel in Cairo. The location is truly strategic and perfect for getting around the city easily. The place itself is always clean, quiet, and comfortable, with everything you might need during your stay.
The rooms are clean, peaceful, and well-maintained, which made my experience very relaxing. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist with anything.
As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe and comfortable throughout my stay. This is a big plus, and I highly recommend it for any solo female traveler visiting Cairo. The price is very reasonable for the quality, location, and level of safety you get.
A special thanks to Mohamed, the reception manager, for his support, kindness, and great help during my stay.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a safe, quiet, and comfortable place in Cairo.

Nice safe harbour right next to a busy shopping/restaurant area. Basic but worked for me.

Disgusting

Disgusting! See pictures. Admittedly, it's not expensive (17€), but do not stay here if you can afford to pay a bit more for a decent room. The building is filthy, and the hostel floor is used as a storeroom. Only one shower and toilet per floor, of dubious cleanliness and with the floor often flooded. The sheets were dirty (nail clippings, hair, etc.) and hadn't been changed. I asked for and received clean sheets at no extra cost. One of the two cushions had traces of mildew. The street was noisy like everywhere else in Cairo, and the minaret of the mosque right under the windows (at 5am and 5.30am the call to prayer rings out). The reviews on booking.com are obviously wrong. The only positive points are the thick mattresses, the simple but correct breakfast and the friendly lady in the kitchen. Many of the hotels in the area are much better and inexpensive, for a quality/price ratio similar to what you'd find in Europe for a 2-3 star hotel (Grand Palace, 48€). Other, better-quality hotels like the Cosmopolitan are much more chic and better located for 140 to 160€/night.

You do what you can

With the premise that it is obviously a hostel and that it costs little per night, it must also be said that the building and in particular the stairs look like something out of a horror movie.
The staff is quite apathetic and they serve you breakfast accompanied by big scatarramenti, absolutely understandable given the air in Cairo, but that make you pass the craving.
The room was ok if it wasn't for the bathroom you had to go with your shoes given the cm of standing water on the ground. The drain was not going except pulling up the entire lid of the cassette, but with all the loperamide in our system we abused even little.
It was definitely fun.
Happy note, the museum is right there a two minute walk away with a good place to have breakfast.
