Good option to explore Helsinque. Good location. I was in room 24, clean and cozy. Good size for one. The kitchen was missing utensils.

Consider the options

Let me start off by saying that it's definitely a budget option.
For that; yes, you get a bed indoors, and the key codes work well; the view can be described as nice, too.
But even considering that, Skyhostel seems to set at an awkward position between true budget options and actual hotels. It's more expensive than a traditional bunk-bed hostel, but not much less cheaper than an actual hotel room. What you get for that price seems to greatly depend on who your neighbors are.
The hostel is difficult to find, even with instructions with photographs provided on how to get there. You have to navigate through a dirty and run-down parking hall, which (especially at night time) feels, as the young people say, "SUS" (suspicious).
There is no staff to welcome you; actually, you may not run into anyone at all, which would be perfect, unless you needed to ask for advice. The entrance has several keypads and Skyhostel's isn't marked in any specific way, so you have to just guess which one to put your pin code into.
When I arrived to my room finally, it was BLAZING hot. I didn't have a thermometer with me (I know... Who even travels without a thermometer?! /sarcasm), but I can easily say that it was closer to +30 degrees celcius. My home is +22 C and I feel OK with a hoodie on; in this room, it felt like stepping into a sauna. There was no way to adjust the heating.
The room was far from spotless. I found long, dark hairs in the bed and inside the drawers; stains; the fridge was definitely uncleaned, and the microwave smelled pretty horrible.
The blinders were also crooked, the table lamp was broken, and there was no carpet at the entrance to wipe/place your shoes to.
You only get 1 flat pillow and the bed is passable at best. I didn't bother putting the TV on, so I don't know whether it worked or not.
It's obvious that this building was supposed to be an office of some sort, and it was transformed into a hostel.
On the plus side; the view was nice from the 11th floor.
All of this would've been kind of OK for the price, but what shocked me is how WELL you can hear EVERYTHING being discussed in the neighboring rooms. The walls feel more like curtains. I was "lucky" enough that my neighbors were only talking in a regular tone of voice. Any music, partying, telephone calls or laughter would've been obnoxiously loud.
So this brings us to a conclusion: for +20€, you can get a cheap hotel room. For -20€, you can get a bunk bed at a hostel.
Skyhostel kind of fails as a hostel and as a hotel.
I've seen reviews saying that customers did not stay and sleep here; in all honesty, I can't blame them. If you want to book this place, prepare for the experience to feel a little dystopian. Since all you can hear are the murmurs of other hotel guests, and there's no staff; the entire feel of the room felt like something out of the beginning of a psychological horror game, especially at night-time (when the room was still nearly +30 C even though it was snowing outside).
I'm absolutely certain you could book a worse option.
But you could book a better one too.

Good points :
The place is close to metro and supermarkets. The is no reception but they assist via whatsapp. The room is with old furniture but okey. The place is hot enough considering the cold in Helsinki. There was always hot water in shower, never had a problem.
Negative :
1- The kitchen is nothing like photos. You can not cook smt as there is nothing to use. 1 microowen is not working, the other is incredibly dirty so that you don't want to use.
I have to say, the fridge in room is very noisy and dirty.
2- Sound insulation between rooms is very bad. If your neighbour is silent then you are lucky, or else huge problem to sleep.
3- There is no hairdryer.
4- The bed is confy but the size is ridiculously small. Is it for children or what ?
5- There is no luggage room, you have no place to left your stuff a couple of hours.
Verdict
It is possible to stay but not very recommended. For the price it's okey but should improve largly.
