Touring The Somme? Here's the place to stay

On the centenary of the end of The Great War I was intent on being in the area where my Uncle was killed back in 1916; it seemed the right thing to do.
A whizz through Booking.com turned up "Comme un Reve" ("Like a dream" as you probably know) and despite the imited number of reviews here took a chance and booked it
I needn't have worried. This was excellent.
An annex to the owners' home, it has just two apartments, one on each floor. In the middle, downstairs is a well-equipped shared kitchen, so it you don't always want to dine out it is easy to self cater.
Mind you, after the continental breakfast provided each morning you might like to skip lunch.
Warm (this was November), clean, well-equipped, it ticks all the boxes. It's very easy to find, and Remi will text you on the day to ascertain your arrival time and make sure the automatic gates are open. You park inches from the front door to the apartments.
The upstairs apartment I had included a big, double bed, a 'sitting room' area with a couch and TV and a well-equipped bathroom or rather 'shower room'. A word of caution here... If you don't have a Master's Degree in engineering you may find controlling the shower something of a challenge at first. It has an overhead shower panel, a hand shower, and six body jets at low level. None of the controls are placarded so it's trial and error. But once sorted... it is amazing

Excellent alround.

Lovely quiet setting the accomodation is clean and comfortable with WiFi connection. The owners are very good hosts and friendly but are not intrusive. The accomodation is in a converted barn which has been carefully and tastefully appointed.
Breakfast is very good and there is a kitchenette if you wish to cook.

Excellent

Very clean and comfortable. Remi is a perfect host, friendly but discreet. We had the ground floor room, spacious and a lovely bed. The shower is excellent.
Breakfast is everything you need to get set up for the day ahead. Having a kitchenette is a bonus, it's small but well equipped.
Had a very happy stay here

Très bonne découverte

Excellent gite/bed and breakfast.
La chambre d'hôte dans laquelle nous avons logé (une des deux chambres disponibles) était particulièrement moderne et propre tout en respectant le cadre originel du bâtiment (une grange de petite taille). Le lit est de bonne qualité, la kitchenette et la salle de bain sont équipées avec le nécessaire (poêles, frigidaire, cuisinière, serviettes/linges, savon etc...). Un jardin à l'arrière permet le cas échéant aux enfants de se dépenser.
Le petit-déjeuner à l'européenne est de qualité et servi à l'heure demandée par l'hôte.
Les gérants sont très sympathiques et vivent sur place avec leurs enfants.
Difficile de faire mieux pour un gite accessible aux familles.

calme absolu

chambre d'hôtes agréable,propre,avec tout le nécessaire;bon petit déjeûner servi à l'heure qui vous convient;
peut faire aussi gîte rural puisqu'il y a une cuisine toute équipée;
propriétaire bien sympathique et serviable
située dans un petit village très tranquille;
au fond du jardin oies canards poules et chèvres n'attendent plus que vos croûtons de pain
