Right at a rocky beach

It is a camping ground with a couple of basic ”hotel rooms” to rent, with a communal kitschen area and showers and toilets. It’s right on the beach, which unfortunately is rocky. If you walk a short distanserar to the left there are sandy beaches. The place is fairly far away from the airport, but the owners, who are very pleasant, will pick you up at the airport and drive you there after your stay. On of the best restaurants of the island is within walking distance and there is a shop where you can buy fresh bread early in the morning. It is possible to get cooked dinners from the owners. You can borrow bicycles to explore the island. Unfortunately they are not maintained properly, with rusty chains etc. But the place is pleasant anyway.

Simple but nice

Very simple facilities, just like the life they have here locally.
We spent 2 days here, both under the rain, but it was still fun.
We had a half-day hiking with Terii, very experienced guide, taught us a lot of local culture and tradition, highly recommended!!
If you’re also looking for a taste of local life, or trying to get lost in time, please come here!

Scenic and idyllic campground on isolated part of Huahine-Iti

This is a very pleasant little campground on an isolated and sheltered bit of shoreline on Huahine-Iti. It is quite far from the airport, so plan for your transport in advance. You can arrange airport transfers and on-site bike and motorbike rental with the owners of the campground, but to get all the way around the frequently rainy island you will be best off with a car. There is plenty of free parking for cars. The camping area is very nice, lots of soft grass and a very nice if quite rustic kitchen and picnic shelter. There is a handful of books and some travel info plus lots of seating and dining space. The kitchen has a gas stove and plenty of fridge space plus plenty of electrical outlets to charge devices. Wifi is available with a pre-paid card which the owners can sell you. Either bring food with you on the plane or else make sure that you can stop to buy some before you travel out here as there is not going to be anything available in the evening. During the day there is a small but relatively well-stocked shop a hundred meters up the driveway or so. If you are on a bike, there are a scattering of small places to buy snacks and drinks around Huahine-Iti but for proper groceries you would have to go all the way over to Huahine to fine any. The toilets and showers are pretty good, very basic but clean and well maintained. The beach is rough and rocky but you can get in some good swimming and some relatively good snorkeling out a bit further. I saw some awesome big eels just off the campground. There is a really interesting archaeological site just a bit up the beach from here which is a great place to go for a sunrise or evening walk. Probably bring a book or something to do after hours. I spent a fair amount of time as the only person on the property when the family went out. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and speak French and English plus the local language. They can help you with travel info and make good suggestions for things to do and place to see. This a a rather rustic and basic place far from any services but very pleasant if you are prepared for this. Budget travelers can choose between this more natural and remote option or a budget hostel in the town at similar prices. Both have advantages but this particular one is better for people looking for natural and outdoor activities.
