Traditional Local Fayre

Stopped in Altenau recently and at the recommendation of our hotel we ate at Moocks Restaurant, staff were friendly and the service very quick.
Menu had a large selection of local regional food and it was excellent quality, we were so impressed that we returned the following evening

No hospitality

Tired to get a table for dinner in a half-emty restaurant, but was told that they did not serve, eventhoug they clearly did. Er pointed this out, but did'nt get an answer. Very unpolite and a poor level of service!

Amazing food in a nice village, reasonably priced

We tried also the hotel restaurant and it was one of the best in Germany. Staff is very polite, but english skills are limited. WIFI works and is fast, which we've seen as rare thing in Germany.
Hotel room was clean, bed comfy and room was certainly large enough (suite) but due to heat wave, it was very hot (no A/C).
If you're bothered by church bells from closeby church, this can be a problem.

Klassiek, gastvrij en goed eten

Op wandeltocht door de Harz een nacht in dit hotel verbleven en s avonds gegeten. Kamers zijn prima van kwaliteit, maar iets gedateerd. Voor de prijs prima te doen. Eten was uitstekend. Veel verse producten, ook uit kruidentuin van het dorp. Brede keuze. De klassieke inrichting doet een tikje nostalgisch aan, maar het past bij de sfeer van het dorp en de omgeving. Ontbijtbuffet was uitgebreid en we kregen van alles mee voor ons lunchpakket. De waardin was hartelijk en gastvrij. Persoonlijke sfeer was prettig en pluspunt.

Leuk stadje in de Harz

Zeer gastvrij ontvangen.Avonds heerlijk gegeten voor een goede prijs .De slaapkamer
was vrij nieuw gerenoveert en dus goed.De gangen waren aan renovatie toe .Ondanks het vermelden dat er een minibar op de kamer aanwezig zou zijn .Het ontbijt is in orde
