Wonderfully located hotel with best service, very well maintained and very warm

Beautifully located hotel where you feel immediately at ease due to the warm hospitality and professional service. Room, garden, indoor playground and wellness area extraordinarily well maintained - everything looks like newly built. You have a wonderful view of Lake Thum and the mountains and are surrounded by nothing but magnificent nature, cricket chirps and birdsong.

A cozy place to stay.

Was here with my son for a weekend seminar. Impressive complex in an imposing nature. The website already suggests it but the reality is even better. Not just a hotel but a holiday home. Everything clean and well maintained with the most varied possibilities. In addition to the large children's playground also a small snow slope although everything around was green. In addition to the imposing main house, there are also some outbuildings, spa, gym, many cosy sitting areas indoors and outdoors that invite you to linger, discuss or watch TV. Extremely attentive and cheerful staff at every point and shift. Exceptionally good food. We had a very spacious room with a large bathroom and balcony, comfortably furnished, clean and comfortable beds. This hotel has set new standards for us and we will surely come back with the whole family.
I think it's a pity that there's a devastating one-star review from 2009, which from today's point of view is completely nonsensical but distorts the cut. Should be taken out.

Better than expected

Three stars do not do this lovely and well appointed hotel justice. Yes, it has no fridges or baths in the rooms, but apart from that it is absolutely top class. We stayed for a week during a "mini reunion" with some old university friends and were absolutely amazed at the standard of the accommodation, restaurant and relaxation facilities.
We had "half board" which is usually breakfast and dinner, but a light lunch, usually soup and tasty "left overs" from the previous dinner were also available. Not only were the common areas spacious and comfortable but the sporting and relaxation facilities were amazing! A whole world has been created under the two main buildings with a magnificent heated swimming pool, saunas, spas, gymnasium, playroom for the kids and even a bowling alley.
The young couple who run this family hotel with their parents and their excellent staff made sure that we wanted for nothing. The location is breathtaking and we could not think of a single thing that could be improved.

Great stay in the middle of nowhere!

Awesome resort style hotel in southern Germany. I arrived here after a great hike in Berchtesgaden National Park which was one of my favourite hikes of all time!
The hotel staff are warm and friendly, some didn't speak English too well but i got by with my poor German. Meals are buffet style in the main dining room / on the patio and are great with a wide variety of delicious food. All within a view of the mountains, most rooms have balconies and are clean and comfortable. (Definitely not modern but that shouldn't be your expectation if you are staying in a place like this).
Only issue was that the wifi was not strong and had very poor connectivity in the room. You had to be in the lobby to get anything more then one bar.

Country retreat

This was a highlight of an 8 week tour of Europe. A service oriented hotel in a great location. The scenery is spectacular with the property just a few minutes away from many beautiful walks. The staff are very helpful and service levels are high. The breakfasts and buffet dinners are very high quality with lots of choice. Rooms are a reasonable size and if you get one with a lakeside view then you will definitely want to come back! This whole region is one of the most scenic in Germany.
