We've called in the police

Our stay at this hotel was problematic from the start. Already at check-in there were difficulties: The key card did not work at first and our room was difficult to find. The orientation in the building is poor overall. Some rooms are behind doors labeled as “warehouses”, which is very misleading. Also the condition of the room was not acceptable: The floor was dirty, the sheets were stained and there was foreign hair in the bed.
In the evening, we also read reviews on other platforms where similar incidents were reported. Not only in terms of cleanliness, but also that strangers who entered rooms. Because of this, we have secured the door next to the safety chain additionally with small pieces of furniture.
Especially frightening was an incident at night: Around 3:45 a.m. our room door was suddenly opened with a key card. Without prior knocking. In response to our reaction (“Get out!”), after a long pause, a male explained in the dark that he was from reception and needed to check if the room was occupied. Fortunately, the door was blocked by the security device, so no access was possible.
After we made it clear again that the person should leave, only the inappropriate reaction came: “Don’t shout at me.” Not feeling safe in this situation, we contacted the police and left the hotel that night.
On leaving the hotel, the receptionist explained that he himself had been in our room. He tried to portray the situation as a misunderstanding. It was striking that the conversation was suddenly conducted in English, although communication was previously in German.
For us it remains completely incomprehensible why a room is entered unannounced at night to check its occupancy. Especially since check-out is only at 10am and check-in from 2pm. In addition, our occupancy was known, as we were already shown a corresponding overview at check-in, as initially there was confusion about the key card and our room.
The whole experience was very scary for us. We did not feel safe and therefore cannot recommend this place. We advise that you also consider reviews on other platforms as they provide a more comprehensive picture.
Too bad you can't award 0 stars.

I stood in front of closed hotel doors- Without words!!

Unfortunately, my booking was completely cancelled without me knowing about it. It was only when I was standing outside that I saw the note saying that all bookings had been cancelled and that you should find yourself a new hotel on a Saturday night. Insolence. Never again.

RIP-OFF!!!

Absolutely disastrous experience at Diamonds Hotel – I can really only strongly advise against booking here.
We booked our room normally through Booking.com and had already paid in full. On the day of check-in we even received a message about booking from the hotel that they were looking forward to our stay. The situation on the ground was all the more shocking:
When we arrived at night (around 3am!) there was simply a note on the door saying that no check-in was possible due to alterations and all bookings were cancelled. No prior information, no email, nothing.
After knocking we were briefly let in, but we were merely told that no room is available. On the phone, the boss also treated us unkindly and disrespectfully, turned us on stupidly and showed zero understanding for our situation – even though we were left without accommodation in the middle of the night.
We were practically on the street and had to search for another hotel in panic – at a significantly higher price. With any luck, we'll have found anything at all.
Such behaviour is absolutely unacceptable. Simply letting a paid booking lapse without caring or offering alternatives is disrespectful, unprofessional and simply not acceptable.
Never again.

Outrageous, but lucky

So now that I have seen these reviews here and after walking past this hotel at night, I have to say, I am very glad that we too were cancelled the reservation from November for the 07.02.26 3 hours before arrival due to alleged overbooking. I don't want to have to experience Companion. But also what's going on outside the hotel at night. Nothing against other populations, but everything is full of people at night, but not a German soul in between. I was a little uncomfortable. We were lucky and quickly found another hotel. I can recommend the Boulevard Hotel a few meters further, cost us only 4€ more and there it was quiet and nice.
PS: However, the two reviews from March and April 2024 look very positive and detailed to me. Even the owner was allowed to get to know. I wouldn't take these reviews quite so seriously.

Never experienced anything like this

really a juice shop.
my reservation which I already booked and paid the month before arrival was cancelled 2h before arrival. Supposedly because of “overbookings”. When I finally reached someone after a few calls it was just said that I should clarify about booking and they cannot help me. As a reason they gave me suddenly not an overbooking but a pipe break. When I pointed out that I work in a hotel myself and know that they have to offer me legally an equivalent hotel/accommodation kahm just they don't know that and I should clarify that with booking. I didn't act like words for one of those.
