This is a lovely quiet hotel within walking distance of the busy central Cologne. The staff couldn't be more helpful, even ensuring we had a room on arrival 4 hours before the official check in time. We were even offered refreshments while we waited. The room is clean and the towels etc changed every day. Supermarkets, cafes etc within easy walking distance. Id definitely recommend if you want the peace away from the hustle and bustle of central Cologne.

Never come back to this hotel!

Very sparse breakfast. But there were eggs and bread and some order. For the most part, breakfast buffet was not filled up. Do not live up to expectations. Good location, close to Koelnmesse, takes 10-15 min walk. Interior city is also close. There is an elevator and large terraces. The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival. - Cinderella filled, a forgotten socket under the bed along with a lot of dust and remote control for TV. Soap in the bathroom not filled up. Failure to clean the room every 5 days. No toilet paper, no clean towels, no vacuuming or cleaning of the bath, the trash cans we had to empty ourselves when they were overcrowded.We made the reception attention the safety box did not work on the room, they said they were aware of it and it would come up and run during the day. It never came up to drive. We also told the reception that they did not clean our room on day 2, although we hung up the right sign and the cleaning man was running right next door. Nothing was done about that either. The emergency number that hangs on the door to the reception we have also tried to call to as we were desperate for toilet paper and clean towels, there was no one who took it. When we started a complaint case through bookin.com, the staff lied to them and said we hadn’t made them aware of anything until finally when we checked out. It was insanely burdensome and annoying to be at FIBO and come back to a dirty room every night without the basics. We've given 11190 kr for five days here, and we'll never come back to this hotel again!

I'd recommend

This is a value for money hotel around 15 minutes walk from central Cologne. The staff couldn't be more helpful on arrival ensuring we had a room even though we were 4 hours early for the official check in time. We were offered refreshments as we waited, very friendly first impression of Cologne. The room was extremely clean, towels changed every day. Supermarkets, cafes etc within a few minutes walk. Located in a very quiet area which was lovely after the very busy Christmas Markets. The only thing, which is nothing really is the room tvs did not have an English speaking channel which made for a long night if you're not wanting night life. But as said, if that's the only negative it's all good. I was here with my mother on a weekend break and would definitely stay here again and recommend.

Overpriced and not corresponding to the four star status, ...I want to be a guest and not annoying!
Rooms are not exactly thoroughly cleaned!

Quiet and central, but better without breakfast

The location is good, central and yet quiet. The room is clean but not cozy. Breakfast for 20€ too expensive. We were in the breakfast room before 9am and there was hardly anything left of the anyway not great selection. It wasn't followed up either. Next time I'd have breakfast at the bakery or something.
