Absolute recommendation
As a family holiday on the farm super class. We were already the second time there. It is thought of everything, the apartments are quaint, cozy and just special. The location is also great for making trips.

Very nice farm with exclusively equipped apartments
We were here with child and very satisfied!
The apartments were very clean and great decorated.
Only the kitchen was a bit impractical for cooking, as e.g. an oven
missing and the fridge was quite small (for us three people already too small, drinks we could not cool)
The beds were great, especially the large bunk bed our child liked very much.
The owners were very nice and the daily feeding time was nice to have contact with the animals.
The games cellar is great but if you arrive with only one child it is a pity that you can only book it for a family/child, as the child would like to have playmates. Maybe you can reconsider.
The location is good and there are many excursion destinations nearby.
We were there in the autumn and many wasps romped in the vineyards at the house, here would definitely be fly screens or a shelter. Since we had an allergy sufferer in the family was always a little worried here that a wasp comes too close and in the apartment these were unfortunately immediate if you left the door open even briefly.
The owners are available with advice and assistance, e.g. also for excursion tips or similar.
Conclusion: Fully recommended, in case of wasp allergy possibly not book the apartment on the grapevine ;-) otherwise a great holiday home for families.

Unreliable business fees – Accommodation already paid online has been cancelled by Hagerhof 48h before arrival!
For November 2024, a short stay via Booking.com was booked, which was also paid electronically in advance.
Hagerhof in the district of Meisham is 90 km east of Munich and 8 km from the north shore of Lake Chiemsee. The nearest train station with regular service in Bad Endorf is about 10 km away. The nearest supermarket (Edeka in Eggstätt) is 3.5 km away.
I have not yet experienced in this form in Bavaria the manner in which the guest was confronted here by the accommodation after receiving the booking confirmation. The business fees raised considerable questions as to the extent to which the media-advertising self-presentation on the homepage is actually lived in the real world.
The flowery illustrations of the Chiemgau country idyll on the homepage quickly faded when Ms. Pfaffenberger reached for the keyboard.
This soberly communicated via chat: “The booking is void.” The documented conduct thus amounted to a manifest breach of contract.
At the same time, it was acknowledged that an error was caused by the host company, which should be passed on immediately to the travel plans of the guest.
Alternative accommodation was neither offered nor arranged for the guest. The booking guest was left to his own devices.
All the more surprising was the offer received 4 days before arrival via anonymous chat message from the booking portal: “The property would like to offer to keep your booking if you agree to stay at least 3 days at their property and the total price is 189 euros.”
The “validity” of the booking, apparently declared by Hagerhof itself according to subjective goodwill, should now suddenly be linked to the fact that the guest stays on site for three nights instead of one and pays a price that was not in the least comparable to the initial booking. Here, too, the astonishment was great how little contractual principles were taken into account at Hagerhof.
In the present case, unfortunately, it had to be stated in retrospect that Hagerhof apparently advertised incorrect room prices on online portals and also offered them for the conclusion of the contract, in order then to elicit a declaration of consent from the paying guest to subsequently increase the room price and increase the length of stay, with notice of a refusal to check-in.
This was not accepted by the guest and rejected as inadmissible. With this documented business practice, the seriousness to be expected in view of the sumptuous room prices is unfortunately squandered and Bavarian hospitality becomes a farce in the perception of the guest.
The sad peak of the Hagerhof's insolence was then revealed when, after automated chat messages repeated to Mrs Pfaffenberger, dröge was told "you cannot arrive."
Two days before the contractually binding arrival date, Ms. Pfaffenberger left no stone unturned and initiated a cancellation contrary to the contract by adding the booking portal, although there was no wish of the guest to cancel. The guest is currently waiting for the refund of the booking amount already advanced by credit card.
So anyone who relies on reliable and contract-abiding behaviour from accommodation providers should perhaps look for alternatives after all.
NO COSY START TO THE DAY – CHECK-OUT TIME AT 9:30 AM
To generate additional sales, Hagerhof has also set a really guest-unfriendly check-out time of 9:30 a.m. for itself, in order to praise in the same breath the possibility that a late check-out is possible for an extra 50 € “subject to availability”. These regulations are also not mentioned in the online advertisement at Booking.com.

(1) The tourist tax of a ridiculous 1 € per person will still be charged separately, although one could easily include this in the three-digit room prices in advance.
(2) For each use of the sauna, there is a €12 “energy cost share per heat-up”. Have you ever been asked to pay for your own sauna in a five-star accommodation? In Hagerhof, apparently Usus.
(3) Even for the smallest infrastructure uses by the guests, additional fees are also required: “Washing machine per wash cycle incl. detergent 4,- €” and “dryer per dry cycle 4,- €”. Again, there is unfortunately no sign of generosity and an all-inclusive thought, as would be more than justified at these room prices.
(4) In order to further maximise the yield possibilities, it is pointed out on the Hagerhof’s homepage that the following additional costs, perceptible as “penalty fees”, are charged for short stays:
In low season:
→ for 2 rental days per day: 50,- €
→ for 3 rental days per day: 30,- €
→ for 4 rental days per day: 25,- €
(5) In order to seemingly draw the full framework of the capitalist exploitation of the property in the selection of the most willing guests, the following minimum booking periods are mentioned on the homepage:
in low season: 2 days
in mid-season and high season: 7 days
in July and August: usually 14 days
VISITING RIGHTS REQUIRING APPROVAL ARE MONETIZED RESEARCH
The imagination of apparent rural idyll and child-friendliness produced in transfiguring detailed photos counteract the regulations on the homepage with an unsavory counterpoint. It states under the item Visit regulations:
“Visitors are only allowed with prior registration and approval.”
With such a perceived unworldly approach, it would hardly be surprising if the guests of the Hagerhof, who have to pay high-priced daily rates, are more likely to be reminded of a tolerated visit to the mother-in-law, when temporary guests in the booked apartment are placed under the permission reservation of the landlord. A generally perceived rather alien regulation that could not seriously endure in any hotel in the world.
The homepage continues:
“Prices per visit up to 4 hours, up to a maximum of 21:00:
- Adults 20,- €
- Children 6 to 17 years 15,- €
- Children 0-5 years 10,- €
Without entitlement to participate in animal feeding, without entitlement to use of play equipment.’
Having said this rather anti-social pricing policy, one has to state speechlessly with an open mouth that the Schmittbergers here also want to encroach on the visitation rights of guests exempted with triple-digit room amounts per night, one really wonders what must have happened here in the past, that one resorts to such regulations. The interference with the degrees of freedom of the guests also seems far from what is meaningful and permissible here.
Babysitting is also available for €20 per hour and bathrobe rental for €5.
On the other hand, there does not seem to be any free bikes for guests, as the homepage refers to a provider 16 km away.
GUEST PETS NOT ALLOWED – not even for a fee
On the homepage, no opportunity is missed to dictate regulations to guests who are galaxies away from the term “hospitality”. Among other things:
“There is no entitlement to payment at the end of your stay by bank transfer.” At the same time, Hanse-Merkur travel cancellation insurance is advertised on the homepage.
Those who want to book on the in-house homepage are first encouraged to make a “cross”, which states:
‘Acknowledgement of the GTC(*)
I acknowledge – at the same time for all registered participants – the rights and obligations under the Terms and Conditions as binding. They already apply to the conclusion of the contract. I expressly declare that I am also responsible for the contractual obligations of all persons listed.”
It leaves a deep thoughtfulness when you look at how Hagerhof was transformed from a typical Chiemgau forage farm for cattle fattening to a marketing-side “luxury residence” for farm holidays.
The eleven apartments with folkloric-transfigured designations range in size from 40 to 72 square meters, making them tailored to families. Families are charged an additional €4-20 per night for each child travelling with them.
For the apartments themselves, a hefty €149 to €269 per night is called, without including a breakfast buffet or sauna use.
In the case of high season, Hagerhof can generate a daily turnover of 2569 € (plus child and short-term supplements) if all 11 apartments are fully booked.
With squiggly writing and songbird illustrations, it seems to be intended to distract attention from the aloof room rates in the published price list for 2025. In a two-minute promotional video on Youtube, numerous children are also instrumentalized for commercial success. Bottom line, not pleasant.

Beautiful Apartments!
Overall a really beautiful apartment hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. Apartments are made with much love and passion to details. The morning bread service was amazing and on time. And delicious. They even had fresh eggs and homemade jam available in their little shop. The only little downside i would say: the bunnies are stuck in small cages the whole time (each of them in an individual cage, so no contact between them). Small kids love visiting them and the bunnies seem to like being pet... But for me, it was a sad sight. And similar to that: Great for kids to visit cows, but the cows never get outside!! They have their own small indoor stalls where they cannot even turn around. But i guess this is traditional Bavaria. The whole yard and the apartments are laid out really nicely and thought through... overall, yes we can recommend! Good even if it rains, still lots to do with small kids!
