Good hotel

Good hotel, clean and functional. Food in restaurant good quality. Staff spoke English in a very clear manner and were very helpful. Good open car park. Breakfast very good quality produce. Centrally located.

This is a very friendly hotel, family run for decades. The food is really very good!

The hotel is in a small village south of Ulm city called Erbach. It is easily found on the main road through the village. The hospitality is exceptionally good. For non German speakers the staff speak English. The rooms are clean and spacious and reasonable WiFi is available. The main advantage of this hotel is the quality of food in the restaurant. It is simply excellent and probably one of the best restaurants in the area.

Good hospitality, excellent sleep and good dinner

We were pleasantly welcome into the hotel by the owner. The hotel has a modern look , bright and clean. The rooms we had were reasonably spacious and also clean. The same comments apply to the bathroom.
The hotel is setback from a main road but our rooms were at the back overlooking very nice gardens and a little promontory with the typical castle that you can find in many German towns. A very nice view from our window.
After checking in we went for a walk around and up to the castle. Again very nice views of the surrounding countryside. We continued our walk around and back into the town but there seems to be a lot places closed after 6 in the small German towns. We ended up for dinner in the hotel (Restaurant Truffel). It is a bright and large dining room. We were cheerfully and promptly served (there were just a few tables occupied). We had tagliatelle and Ravioli for dinner and it was fine. I wold not call it excellent but it was OK
Breakfast next morning was well supplied
Bad coffee and not that good internet, with both being a very common happening in many places.

Before you book check that Wi-Fi is available

Booked one of their upgraded rooms which was clean, functional but small. There was no Wi-Fi available. The staff were very helpful and curtious. I tried the restaurant and was disappointed with the crayfish which was tasteless and the desert which I was told was chocolate mousse turned out to be slices if pinapple with a spoon of white mousse. Better places to stay in Erbach

Gemütliches Hotel - sehr gastfreundlich

Ungeplant musste ich in Erbach übernachten und fand dann ein freies Zimmer im Hotel Kögel. Die Leute am Empfang waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit - da habe ich mich sofort wohlgefühlt. Zimmer waren sauber und gepflegt. Werde ich mir auf jeden Fall merken, wenn ich in der Gegend wieder etwas zu tun habe.
