Very nice hotel, clean and very quiet surrounds.

An excellent stay here for a week while I explored Essen, Dortmund and Duisburg. The hotel is perfectly located on the edge of a large park with with a small lake and fountain. It is also by a metro station 2 stops from the main train station or a 12 minute pleasant walk. A nice spacious lobby for checkin and very friendly staff at check in. The room was very good, it was quite a spacious room with a nice sized bathroom. Everything in the room was very clean. The club lounge is currently in the restaurant for breakfast and for dinner and they offer a nice selection although disappointingly in my 7 nights therewere German dishes served. Although you can irder some from the restaurants menu to eat in the lounge, I did eat out a couple of nights so I coudl try typical German dishes. The staff were excellent, and especially bringing out some schwip schwap when asked. The breakfast in the hotel is very nice, excellent selection and high quality, but I wish they cooked eggs to order like the Marriott in Cologne does.
The staff overall were excellent at the hotel and were genuinely friendly and helpful. This is definitely a hotel I would stay at again. In fact as im writing this ive already got my next stayed booked

Enjoy a weekend Christmas market

Lovely hotel where we have been before. This time with our little dog for the first time. Spacious room, beautiful location and breakfast and super good staff. Also the price was fantastic. Around 230.00 for two nights including breakfast and parking. Fantastic Asian girl at reception for our reception and super fine boy who has provided our room service twice.

Second home

We have been coming to Sheraton Essen several times a year for over 11 years. The location fantastic at the city garden. It is with the best hotel in the whole Ruhr area. I would particularly like to highlight Mr Kanaan at the reception. He always meets us in a very human and professional way over the 11 years. He is the perfect host. But also the whole breakfast team is always so friendly and professional. Above all, the teams have been well-rehearsed for years - something that is rarely found in an international chain hotel. Also worth mentioning is the exceptionally good breakfast and also the very good restaurant. We are already looking forward to the next stay.

AC wasn’t working, front desk shrugged it off. No restocking of water in the rooms. Cleaning starts at 6am with vacuum buzzing around the hallway. Would not stay again at this Sheraton.

Great Experience

Our tour group was welcomed with cold refreshing drinks upon arrival. Check-in appeared to go very smoothly, and luggage was delivered quite promptly. We were served an excellent buffet dinner. Dietary needs were well considered from the vegetarians in the group. The buffet selections were excellent both in presentation and flavor. Service was outstanding. Breakfast buffet was top quality. It was a beautiful breakfast with choices that made everyone in our group happy. Rooms are quite well appointed. My only regret is the Sheraton Essen will not be our hotel each night of our tour as this will be a hard expectation for other hotels to meet.
